2019 Camaro SS Wheel/Tire Sizing

I have a 19SS with the stock wheels. I'm wondering if anyone has upgraded the stock tire sizes to something wider, and what it would look like. I've been trying to find information, but can't seem to find anyone who keeps their stock wheels. Below I put the stock wheel and tire sizes for reference. Thanks!

Front Wheel-20x8.5 offset of 25 Front Tire-245/40/20
Rear Wheel-20x9.5 offset of 39 Rear Tire-275/35/20

I've read you can go to 255 front and 285 rear but anything wider you need wider wheels... For reference the SS 1LE has 10" front and 11" rear wheels...

I appreciate the response. So you're saying 255/40/20 and 285/35/20 is the max unless I get wider wheels?

For street driving, yes. I did this exact combo some time ago, it works fine with any tire.

That said, Nitto tires are typically narrower than their width metric indicates, so if you want better traction at the dragstrip, you can try what KingLT1 did, he put 305/35/20 streetable drag radials on the rear. I'm sure there are compromises with that, so I'd also advise that you consider an upgrade to wider wheels if you're trying to gain in every area simultaneously.

I appreciate the response. Do you by any chance have any pictures?? I only street drive my car, so I just want a little more width for some spirited driving down backroads on the highway and to fill up the wheel well a little bit more, since I really don't want to lower my car.

Just a few not very good ones, but here you go. I've upgraded to 1LE sizes and 315/30/20 rears in the meantime.

Hmm yeah I like the look of that. My biggest worry was a really big sidewall. Thank you for the pictures. I was actually looking at buying those sizes in a Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Are they worth the big price tag, or all hype?

You're welcome. To me they were worth it, because I sometimes need to drive the car in the rain and the PS4S is the street king of wet traction and hydroplaning resistance. Dry grip is also very good, not the absolute best, but still great once the tire warms up. Tire noise is practically nonexistent inside the cabin, and cornering capability is superb as well. Oh, and on a final esthetic note, I love its vertical sidewalls with zero bulge.

As to whether all this is worth the hefty premium, it's your call
