Cam C wheel & tire fitment

Hey Guys, I've been interested in moving from BS to CamC in autox so
1. I can play around with more mods and
2. The pax delta is 0.814 to 0.818 so I feel like with CamC basically being unlimited with 200tw tires that CamC would have the advantage.

Anyway I got some Forgestar f15 wheels from a c7 corvette 18x11+34 w/ 32mm spacers w/315/30/18 front & 18x12 +49w/15mm spacers w/335/30/18 rear with Rival tires.

I have max stock negative camber with factory adjustments front(2.6) rear (1.8)

First autox with the set up is this Saturday

Updated with ramp test. 2 fingers + 2 mm of gap when on my makeshift ramp set up. 3 fingers gap to fender when flat on ground.

Thanks Eric

OK when you say max stock camber, how much exactly were you able to get out of the fronts???? ON the rears , how much negative camber are you running there??? For track settings without camber plates you would want about -2.4 to -2.6 degrees negative camber (I run -3.6 but I have VORSHLAG camber .plates). ON the rear I would try -2 degrees negative camber. Try intially 30PSI COLD pressure in the tires I cant tell from the pictures but I assume you have extended wheel studs ????

Yes the spacers have studs built into them.

Both front and rear look risky to the fenders. I'd try rolling one tire of each end up a ramp first to see how far up the tire could go and make sure it doesn't reach the fender.

I would think 315/30/18 A052's would be way quicker than the BFG's.

Yeah, I was going to say I like his style, but I want to know if he is going to be hitting the fenders. Can definitely go to smaller spacers.

I agree, I don't like the "poke" look but because of the offsets being for a c7 corvette I needed all of the spacers. I only have a few mm clearance to the front struts.(I know best would be camber plates)

I will do the ramp idea and make sure I won't hit the fenders.

I would also think the a052 would be faster but they already had the rivals on the wheels. I want to drive a couple hours plus to autox events and I think the rivals will last longer under my conditions

Plus the rivals come in the 335 rear tires where the a052 max out at 315, so maybe some of the extra width can make up for the lack of grip???

Thanks for your feedback

Please update with pics of the ramp test. I don't think I've ever even seen anyone verify that ZLE front wheels with an 11ET won't hit the SS fenders under full compression. You have a 2ET with more poke but more height clearance with the smaller diameter 315/30/18s.

I'd recommend strut grinding and less spacer, but if it works and clears that's good.

The A052's are on the wide side for a 315. They're fine on an 11" but are even better suited on a 11.5 or 12". I get it that the adapter spacers have the studs pressed into them, but, be sure you have enough engagement. Are the spacers 12mm studs like the Vettes use? You should look at how thin of a wall the spacer is at the point the internal nuts go that mount the spacer to your existing studs. Some are very thin, and I personally would not want that for track use.

ZLE Front wheels with 305's should be fine. I'm running 19x11 +38 wheels with a 25mm spacer on the front(Effectively +13). For the better part of a season, I ran 2.6* of camber with the strut ground for clearance. It still poked, but I never had an issue of the tire getting into the Fender. One of our sites has some pretty severe bumps aslo. Ummpwr's set up has quite a bit more poke, but like you mentioned the shorter height should help.

Will see if I can get the ramp test tomorrow, my autox is sat so I'll know after the event one way or another 😜

There is a pretty large gap in the fender well with how short the 315/30/18s are.

Down the road I'd like to do camber plates to elimate some of the excessive spacer I'm using.

Good to know about the a052 being wider than advertised.

I'll throw in here that I would strongly recommend using longer studs and a plain "pass-through" spacer rather than a thin adapter (especially if the adapter only uses 12mm studs - yikes!). Then you can use whatever thickness spacers you want, and you'll never have to worry about structural integrity.

I cut the "nose" off 1" longer ARP studs so they fit the stock setup using closed-end lug nuts while allowing the use of up to 1" spacers as well.

It was easy using a stud-installer and 1/2" impact, don't even have to take the brakes off. You do need one open-end lug nut though.

I think this is a pretty decent CAM-C setup, even if I do say so myself-

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=582992

I ran that on my 2016 SS (with a different stud/spacer setup) and my 2019 ZL1 1LE with the included spacer. It worked great.
