Best Lowering Springs?

I am looking to lower my SS somewhere around the 1.5" mark. After researching for hours, I have come to the conclusion that there are way too many different brands of lowering springs out there. What springs are the best in terms of drop and ride quality? Any pictures of your Camaros with whatever lowering springs you used along with price you paid would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

By specific design, Pedders coils will drop the Camaro approx 1 inch plus. With the analysis we have done, we feel any lower than this there is undue stress on the strut and you can get into a premature ware area. If you have a strut failure with drop coils, most dealers will not assist you.

With a 1 inch drop you will find the ride quality to be significantly better than the 1.5 inch drop coils. If you want to drop your Camaro 1.5 inches, the only way to do it safely, efficiciently and properly is to go with a Xa coil over like our Pedders Xa coil overs.

thanks

At Hotchkis we know ride quality is important along with handling. We've had very good feedback from our lowering spring kits and TVS. Here are photos of before and after with the Hotchkis springs, and even a supercharged car using the Hotchkis spacers.

I will take the same quote on both to 70546. Please advise in the pm on how close to a stock ride each is. This is going to sway my decision. Thanks guys.

Hi sfgiantsfan9,

Thanks for posting up with your questions, we can certainly tell you about our own Pfadt Race Engineering Drop Springs. Our drop springs are engineered to provide the lowest possible ride height with out sacrificing ride quality. This comes in at 1.25" drop total. We have engineered these drop springs to have a much better front and rear spring rate balance, to help in performance handling.

As a result, you will find the ride is more firm, but not harsh at all. We pride ourselves on being a engineering company that develops products to suit customers that demand performance and comfort. Our drop springs have been engineered to optimize the factory damping in your OEM struts. We have found that lowering beyond this point (~1.25") will yield in undesirable ride characteristics. That is just in our experience, but others have come to this conclusion as well.

If you need any more info on our products please let me know and I will be quick to point you in the right direction! I have posted a link below as well. Thank you!

Pfadt Race Engineering Drop Spring Info

EDIT: I have included a video showing the stance and balance characteristics of our Camaro Sport Package. This package has our drop springs, and shows a before and after comparison.

After doing a lot of reading, I decided to go with the Pfadt Sport Suspension+. I am not planning on racing my car at the track, but I wanted better handling than stock. Also, a lowered car just looks better. IPS Motorsports called me yesterday and all the parts are in. I will call them to schedule an appointment to have them install it next week!
