Turbo 1LE wins Nationals in CAM-C

Shaun Bailey won day 1 (West course) Nats with a 1LE.

It just happened to be the Turbo 1LE this year.

The Turbo 1LE finished 1st and 3rd...outgunning all the 350s.

Looking forward to Day 2 of the battle!

Nationals is two days - today was day 1.

They're strong favorites in any case.

Not a good day for me, brought the wrong tires. :(

Dennis took off his RE71s and put on Michelin PS4S, his co-driver dropped 8 seconds on his next run. That’s how wet it was. I was on RE71s, the GM guys were on Goodyear. Most of the other trophy positions were Contis or PS4S.

Hey...since I got the format wrong...is the class winner whoever has the single fastest run on a single day? Is it combined margin or something?

I have personally only run ProSolo and Match...not a multiple day Nats format.

Thanks.

So, the GM guys were on the OEM Goodyear G3,s?

Thanks, makes sense, need some skinnies in those conditions.

Bridgestone had a lot of top slots in the Day 1 list. Curious if anybody knows which tire it was.

Most likely RE 71Rs, most of the guys are on those.

The results say Bridgestone because that is what they had on their registration. Chris Cox was the only driver in the trophies on day 1 who was actually on Bridgestones, and they were 235mm to cut through the water. I think Laughlin in 17th was the first driver on “normal” 305mm Bridgestones.

Well, I was a day early, but the final results wound up the same.

Turbo 1LE finished 1st and 3rd at Nats.

IN CAM-C. Land of the unlimited V8 power.

Says a tremendous amount about Shaun and Alexander's skill and quite a bit about the platform itself.

I understand the conditions were much better today. I am fairly certain they ran on RE71s. I wonder how big a tire they went with.

The setup is ZL1 1LE wheels, 305 stones, dssv’s, a tune, ethanol, intake and exhaust.
