hey guys, need some help, been searching for the Ac Delco p/n 88862624 here in Kuwait and the Ac Delco dealer says its discontinued, the alternative that the Dealer is using is the Ac Delco Supreme plus p/n 88861202 but the only problem is that i'm not sure if it has the modifier, the dealer could be wrong and i just want to make sure before buying the oil, also if you guys recommend something else, btw we don't have royal purple, we do have Lucas and that's about it.

I think it is safe to assume any differential gear lube has the friction modifier unless it specifically states it does not. For instance Red Line has 75/90 gear lube and 75/90 NS. The NS being the nonslip that does not have the modifier.

Completed my second rear fluid change after another ~10k miles. Almost no discoloration or metal on the magnets compared to the first change at ~2k miles. That first one should be done early.

Didn't read all 5 pages but I have to say that you guys started out all wrong. There is no difference from the 1LE/ZL1 rear diffand an SS. Except for the back of it where the e-diff is. It drains and fills identically to the SS.

Update - I had changed out the fluid when I hit 1500 miles. I'm now at 6700 miles, prepping for a track weekend, so I decided to do the fluid again and it actually looked pretty dirty.
Here's the drain plug, it had another good amount of metal dust on it -

Indeed these units work hard. I had changed fluidbin mine before and right after a first track day and it was worth it. GM suggests doing it every 20 track duty hrs which I'd agree is a good idea. I do mine together with tranny as well.

Also changed trans fluid and went with Amsoil's ATF Signature Series. Made a big difference in how the transmission shifts, much smoother/easier.
