How do you make your headlights flicker!? Help!!

It sucks owning the car and not knowing how to do it. And it looks so awesome seeing it on videos.

That's probably just a function of the frames / sec used in the recorder.

I think you are referring to how the lights look like they are flickering... but aren't really. I see that a lot in videos.. I'm not a tech guy but ide be guessing its the frequency or phase or dilithium crystals

It's the frequency oscillation of the electrical current in the ballast of the headlamp exactly in sync out of phase to the frequency of the refresh rate of a digital camera.

The human eye doesn't notice it because it's so fast. But when synced to a digital camera the refresh rate is out of phase to the lamp and the eye sees the difference.

So, when the camera scans, the light is off. When the camera doesn't scan, the light is on.

FYI xenon HID headlamps work on the same principle as neon. Electrical charge to a noble gas. The ballasts run on AC. Even though your car is DC they invert it for the ballasts (hence the inverter on the headlamp assembly)

It's the same effect that makes the wheels appear to be spinning slowly backwards, or even not spinning at all. You can see this in this video I posted yesterday, but have since turned non-public because I was getting so many thumbs down. Guess it wasn't some naked whore doing a burnout, so the haters hated it.

You can't. The 'flicker' you see is a consequence of filming a light with a camera.
