Does Keyless Entry Lock Activate Alarm
I have a ‘22 SS but I was wondering if you guys have tired or know this. I know you can lock the car using the button on the door handle, but I was wondering does it automatically activate the alarm on the car, or do I have to always use the key when locking the car to activate the alarm? I always use the key just in case, but if the button on the door handle activates the alarm it would save me the hassle of getting my keys in and out of my pockets every single time.

The alarm activates on my 2018 no matter the locking method. Even better, I have automatic locking enabled, meaning the vehicle locks and the alarm activates about 5 seconds after the last door closes.

Same with my 2022. I also have the auto locking enabled so nice to never have to take the keys out of your pocket when you get out.

On my 2018, the related option is at Settings > Vehicle > Remote Lock, Unlock, Start > Passive Door Lock, along with several other similar settings.

On top of the dash there is a ludicrously very dim red light. It should stay solid red then eventually blink if it’s armed.

Locked is locked - doesn't matter how. Watch the light in the center of the dash (bottom of the windshield) to understand how it goes through the cycle of setting the alarm and what it might be alerting you to. There's info in the manual that explains what happens for a short period after lock is activated (rapid blink), then it should go solid red to indicate all areas are secure (doors, trunk, hood, etc.), then go into a "slow blink" mode to indicate the alarm is active.
