Relatively speaking the Zl1 driver drove like a novice. Even the the guy in the GT350 admitted to being in a higher group level than the guys on that track. But he didn't have to admit that; Just looking at the way the ZL1 driver approached the corners, you can tell he wasn't as good a driver.

Even the non-1le ZL1's track times were better than the GT350R, so the argument about which car is more capable is pointless. If we're talking about driver skill, that's different. If we're talking about subjective attributes, the GT350R 'won' many of the head to head comparisons, because the engine sounds and exhaust note were deemed to be better. It hasn't won on actual track performance drivers being equal.

I wonder how the ZL1-E owner felt after his much more powerful ultimate track weapon couldn't shake the pesky much less powerful torque-less wonder which even had his GF in the passenger seat. It's a good thing there were some fairly long straights or it could have gotten real ugly.

Probably how you'd feel if V6 Camaro beat your Boss 302 ultimate track weapon.

Since driver skill isn't part of the discussion on the earlier posted video...

Maybe the Ford camp can tell us how a Camaro SS can take down the almighty Shelby while being down over 70hp?

Really??

per the video; It was the 1st time the GT350 driver tracked it and it was his first lap in the drivers seat.

Impressive, you beat a 1st time track driver, you rock. I think you're ready to go pro.....

If the GT350R is that fast, and if it can keep up with the ZL1 1LE, then how come it lost to the standard ZL1 by almost half a second in the H2H a year and a half ago when a pro driver drove both of them?

Obviously a troll post but is this the twilight zone? You quoted something already refuting you point? Or did I miss the boat here.

Also to lethal z ragarding the video, I believe that was his point, read the first sentence.

Either way fun cars, thanks America

It got out dragged in the straights, it was quicker through the twisty parts. For the record I dont belive the R will keep up with the ZLE with equal drivers.

Lots of twisties meant driver skill and track experience mattered a lot.

Basically what the poster did was enter into a less advanced / skilled class, and raced someone he knew very well was not as skilled just to prove he could hang or best the Zl1-1le.

All he proved that the driver mod matters more in the tracks with lots of turns. We all knew that. He certainly didn't prove GT350R was faster or even on the same level as the ZL1-1LE even though the title of his video made it seem that way.

I do find the youtuber's title funny since the description is:
"The point of this video is not to say one car is better than the other. The point to be made here is that the real factor most of the time is the driver, not the car. Buy the car YOU like and learn how to drive it to it's full potential. Please like and Subscribe to support the channel!"

But I get it, that title will make more people click on it, all 400 of them.

Ok Hot Wheels. You never know maybe one can since I have no idea how to track my car.
