For a closure to this saga, I got the endcaps today and will install them myself. According to the service manager the car originally came with two right side end caps in the trunk. Btw I have the installation instructions if anyone needs them.

Interestingly, the accessory blade spoiler instructions use a template to align the endcaps, while the 1LE endcap instructions use 6 mm thick rubber spacers that stick on the edges of the trunk spoiler.

Also saw the wicker bill instructions, unfortunately drilling is required for that one.

Don't use the adhesive, trust me, the tape is all you need for those caps. And if you ever want to change anything you won't have to repaint the rear quarters due to the adhesive taking the paint off......

Yeah I don't want to use glue if I can help it. Do you think the tape is strong enough to hold above 100 mph?

Absolutely, if tape attaches to a PRISTINE/VIRGIN surface....a few alcohol or paint prep washes first are needed.....

Reviving an old thread here, but the 1LE I purchased last week also had 2 right pieces. Dealer said they were on order, but that they were back ordered. Same story many of you here are reporting. Glad I stumbled on this thread as I was going to let the dealer put them on. My OCD would have a heart attack if they came back crooked!

On a side note.. someone doesn't happen to have 2 lefts do they?

Wanted to check in here to see if anyone has received their replacement end pieces. I'm nearing 4 weeks and haven't heard from the dealer yet.

Just ordered this 1LE blade spoiler in gloss black. Anybody have any tips they want to add before I do my install?

CLEAN surfaces, both spoiler and car, use adhesion promoter.

I was actually just going to post back here. After almost 5 months, I still haven't received the correct end pieces for mine. Is it something that I should pressure more for a fix (find the part, or provide a replacement). It seems a bit trivial, but it's an advertised component of the 1LE that I never received.

That's ridiculous. I'd be going to that dealership and getting to the bottom of this. They would see me so much they might take um off a car if they have one in stock.

I was contemplating asking that. I was pretty nice the first time around, I'll send another email this time around with a little more frustration and see what they say.

If you can, go see them in person. Be firm, but always respectful.

Forget email with a dealer....dealers are nothing but a constant barrage of criseses and so much is left by the wayside. Go see the gen sls manager FACE TO FACE and you'll get better service.
