Showing the shine. Two bucket wash followed by Adams butter wax, polished off with microfiber cloths. Short drive to this location, and wiped off with a bit of quick detailer.

Disappointed by this thread. Was hoping for at least one pic of a car with a reflection of the words, "Send Nudes". hahaha

Thanks, again, Glen for the writeup. Followed it EXACTLY.
- IronX - Dawn wash w/ claybar - Rinseless car wash (because I had to drive the car 2 miles after the claybar) - Blackfire Total Polish and Seal - Blackfire Wet Diamond - Blackfire Crystal Seal Took a little while, but not nearly as long as I thought. And the results far surpassed the days when I'd spend 6 hours with wax! |

Great job… The only change I would make is before you're going to put on paint products for the first time, you need a pristine virgin surface, Rinseless leaves a little bit of wax on the surface. Replace that step with a Dawn wash. Next time.

Also, I noticed that when I did the total polish/seal, the directions on the bottle say that the "product will disappear - no buffing needed". I noticed that, in order to get it to "disappear" with the buffer (set on speed 5, as per the directions), I needed to polish it a LONG time. And the paint/metal would get quite warm. I didn't use very much polish, either. One circle about 1/8"-1/4" thick. So, after that one section, I would do 4 passes with the polisher (as you specified in your docs - a 2'x2' section, 1 pass vertical, 1 pass horizontal - done twice), then wipe with a clean microfiber towel. That got every bit of haze off. Should I have kept polishing it with the polisher? |

Yeah, it leaves a small haze, just wipe it off.......never run a polisher on 5, for a new car, speed 3 is enuf. Two passes is enuf.

On a side note, I ordered my products for Glenn's procedures and was excited to get it done this weekend. But after seeing your post it looks like missed a product. I have the total Polish and seal, and the crystal seal. It appears as though I missed the wet diamond. Can I proceed with the steps that I have the product for and come back to wet diamond? It appears as though that would be step 2a in the instructions. Quote:

I think that the Wet Diamond is just a "if you wanna" step. I figured that I was already spending 2 hours doing everything, so might as well take another 20 minutes to do it.

I guess my question is that if I skip step 2a, should I come back to it in the next 2-3 months when the process is repeated, or is it a now or never type of thing (unless stripping and starting process completely over). Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk |

Forget wet diamond, it's a pain in the ass step and it doesn't add that much gloss or durability. Unless you're using your car in the slush in the Northeast, or somewhere where your car gets filthy, I would rewrite all my plans to omit it at this point. A couple of 15 minute coats of Crystal seal every 3 to 4 months is all you need to do.
