Well, been a few years but I’m back! And very excited to be back in a track oriented Camaro soon! My last camaro was a 2014 Gen 5 1LE. I traded it in on a 2017 GS. I am a track junkie and ran both cars as Button willow. I ran 1:58 in my Camaro and 1:54 in my Grandsport. I had to sell my Grandsport to help my wife’s parents buy a house in CA. But the bright side is I am now free to buy the car of my choice. And that’s why I’m back. I don’t like the looks of the C8 and I think it’s to soft. So, I’m ordering a 2022 ZL1 1LE from Able Chevy in July, once 2022 orders start up. I’m so excited to get my hands on a real dedicated track car again. Corvettes are amazing, but the C8 does not offer a manual and as I can’t stand the looks, so, hello 1LE! I can’t wait to see what kind of times I can put down. Link to a 58 degree dirty day in my GS is below. I fully expect to beat 1:54 in my future ZL1 1LE. It’s going to be a long 6 month wait to find out. Also I must say, the C7 was a handful at the extreme limit as the chassis likes to snap after a set degree of rotation. The alpha platform is so much easier to drive at the limit. Really exited to get back in the best handing drivers car offered by GM.

How are you spec’ing the car out? I may end up ordering a 22 or 23 model if I can’t find something in my price range that I like soon. Is the dealer you’re using offering any rebates or discounts?

Going to order M6 with pretty much everything. Not a lot of options. Doubt I’ll get a discount. I’m a long time customer so they might throw me a bone. Not sure on color yet as I don’t know what if any color changes for 22. Might go black and wrap it right out the gate in a Porsche like green.

I’ve been really thinking about doing the exact same thing for the most part but have not committed. I’ve been holding out in hopes that they’d release another color I like. I wish I would have been able to make the move when Rally Green was around. I have a soft spot for Greens from Porsche, McLaren, Aston Martin, etc.... Anyways, please keep us updated with what you end up doing!

Funny, I just sent a PM to RichieRich on the Corvette forum, to ask him if he could assist for a local ZLE order. I’ll see what he says!

So are you really ordering in July? It’s been reported that orders will open in a week or so, for summer time deliveries (assuming no extra issues with chips and such). Is that what you meant, or did Abel Chevy really say you can only order in July?

Also, regarding new colors, please check on this forum. It’s already been announced they’re adding Rapid Blue and Vivid Orange metallic, although it may take a few months for those to show up as is usually the case with new colors.

I was originally told July by Rich, but then they checked again cause I kept pestering them after being updated by the very thread you referenced lol. Abel confirmed orders are opening in April. Apparently everyone is hot on the new C8 and I was the first this year requesting to order a ZLE, so the info given was outdated.

I don’t like the C8 and love me a manual, so hello ZLE! I will order the min orders officially open. We tried to put in a preliminary order on sat, but the system would not let us as 2021 are not available in ca. I am debating between Vivid Orange, Riverside Blue, or my ultimate fall back of black. I will post up once I can officially get an order in the system. Anthony told me he got a couple calls referencing my thread about ordering a ZLE lol.
