Apex wheels are flow formed and not quite as strong. I know a lot of people have successfully used apex wheels for a while with no problem, but i didn't want the risk. I think a lot of people go with Apex based off price point. They sent me an email and will be offering a discounted rate on their new 18" setup for Camaros coming out soon. if interested shoot them an email and ask about the pre production price.
Any noticeable improvement in laptimes with the 18s?

I can run any tire pretty much.

My daily driven spring/summer/fall street tires are: Continental ECS.
Track Day Tires: Toyos R888R or even the Goodyear SC3. I tracked the Continental and they performed good for me.

I don't drag race often but I can even get a set of Mickey Thompson S/S I think that what those are called for my wheel spec.

Discount tire offer lots of tires its just how deep my wallet is.. lol

Just do it. Even if all you do for tires is move your 285/35s over to them. Don't worry about the mild stretch, just enjoy the slightly crisper turn-in.

285/35s on 18x11s all around in my sig pic.

I thought I read somewhere we can use truck studs as a cheap alternative to the ARP studs. I have no idea if this is true though.

SO this is interesting to me because I have a ZLE and it used to show a square setup (19X10.5) on ApeX's website I thought using a 12mm spacer and stock studs. I looked again last night and that setup is no longer there. When I tried to fit my setup last night (wheels and spacers just arrived after 3 months), I can not fit the spacer on. I did remove the spacer and go for a ride without issue so the spacer may just be needed for magna ride cars. Any one have any insight?

Depending on the offset you got would tell if you needed a spacer. If you got the 19x10.5 et22 you wouldn't need a spacer. The ZLE didn't need the strut mod due to the design differences between the Magride and DSSV struts.

What 18" slicks/R-comps are available in ZLE 11 & 12" widths?? I see Hoosier A7's, but am curious about Pirelli sizing, and other available options.

Ok, that sounds better, yes they are et22. I did find an old thread that called out a 5mm spacer, not sure where I got 12mms. Thanks for the info.
