Simple. Add Water Wetter product to both, the Whipple intercooler and radiator. I have whipple running 757rwhp on E85 and never runs hot.

^ Agreed. I drove mine yesterday for a couple hours in 90 degree weather. IAT's were in the low 120's engine coolant 172. No timing pull.

Wish mine ran a little cooler, I am usually in the 130's pushing 140 when driving around in 90 deg weather. I have water wetter in both, and have a fab over ride switch. Actually i think engine coolant temp is around 180, i will have to see on my way home from work today.

Wouldn't you benefit from say a 160 thermo and have your fans programmed to kick on sooner?

Yea I would think so. I have a 160 Tstat and have my fans set to start ramping in 13% @ 170, 33% @ 180, 66% @ 190, 92% @ 210.

I did replace it with the new one that came with the whipple. Do you know which one comes with the kit?

I used the one that came with the Whipple as well. It's likely your fan adjustments in the tune. Need to set desired temp to 160 then scale the fan on percentage accordingly. Your car will run 10 degrees cooler.

I'm on the same boat in regards to using the Water Wetter on both loops. I also am using the 160F tstat that came with the Whipple. I dont drive the car much but I did this past weekend to a car show and my IAT was hovering at 140ish while cruising. Ambient was about 110ish as we are in the usual heat wave here in Kansas.

Water wetter here too, but I lowered the glycol concentration on the intercooler loop to about 25% (and 75% water) since my car never sees freezing weather. The heat transfer improves by using less glycol. Katech 160 TS, 180 degree ECT setpoint and fans ramp on at 173 to full 100% by 200 degree ECT. I ran 3 hours on the dyno and saw max IAT of 137 on a VERY humid, 85 degree day. Didn’t think that was bad.

What is considered too high or bad though? I honestly haven't logged a tune to specifically eye that but I will go back and look at some old ones. Is too high when timing is being pulled back?

Whipple in your setup does not have an IAT problem unless something is wrong like a bad pump or low coolant level.

Pulling timing when IAT goes up past 140F protects the engine from damage.

Call me with any questions.

Ted.

Hey Ted, I am not having any issues with the vehicle at all. I was more just trying to get educated on whats considered good versus bad.
