Unfortunate on track incident report...

I had an incident on track which wasn't catastrophic but crinkled a bit of sheet metal. It was an off line entry and totally driver error. Slicks (Pirelli DH) were a bit greasy and I was in PTM Race mode. Sport 1 may have saved this but there is no way to know. Mechanically the car is fine and I actually went back on track after some sheet metal massaging in the VIR garage. I have had a few spins but never contact into a tire barrier until now.

Damn I do not like hearing of these incidents. Glad you have the right attitude about it, and did what it took to get back on the horse. Sounds like you had a passenger?

Sorry to hear, glad that you are ok and the damage is relatively minor. When you get a chance can you describe what happened? From the video it seems like you wanted to overtake in the inside with a sharper radius but did not compensate for that and rear came out?

exactly...I was "setting up" and did not respect the inside of turn 3 and pinched it. The track is cambered weird there, I had left wheel in it, and I was half a car too far track left.

It'll buff out! All kidding aside, been there and done that in other cars. Important thing is you are unharmed and the car is drivable.

If you had track insurance, let us know how the repair process goes and whole claims handling.

Glad you are okay. That corner has caught me out twice now, same issue as you too much throttle too soon. Once was my very first track event with an instructor in the car.

Man that sucks. Looks like the car is easily fixable and you are ok. That’s the good part.

Glad you are OK. Remember "Both Feet In". You lost it at 23.20 and I don't see full brakes until 26.00.
