Life is not easy (DIY oil change)

It's just the second oil change at 5000 miles. The first one the dealership implemented for free at 2000 miles.
I tried to remove the oil filter using an oil filter wrench, but it did not work. It was super over-torqued. It really frustrates me.
Finally, using an adjustable plier, it figured out.
Some dealership technicians have no brains.

FREE is NOT FREE... NEVER, EVER let the dealer touch your car unless ABSOLUTELY necessary...

Expensive warranty work, fine, find a VERY reputable dealer... Basic maintenance (oil or diff changes), do NOT let them near your car, free or not... NOT worth it, 90%+ of the time something bad will happen, NOT worth the risk on these high performance, unique vehicles...

Yes, I couldn’t believe it, haven’t been back to the dealer since, I think the lucky stars that I never even needed anything other than regular maintenance

It's funny you fellows mention the free oil change and tire rotation. I was getting ready to set up an appointment for my free oil change and they mentioned a free tire rotation as well, I reminded them it was a Camaro and they did catch themselves on not rotating the tires, but I wonder if I hadn't said anything if they would have rotated them or not.

Maybe they thought it was torque to yield? Once it stops go one turn.

OMG! Big tire to front? I can't believe... crazy. I don't want to go to any dealership for maintenance.

When it comes to ASSuming someone knows better, you can never let your guard down. I didn't trust the local Big Tire specialist's to remove or replace my wheels when I replaced my OE run-flats. I ordered a stock size set of Michelin PS4S's and took them in the wife's Subaru with my Camaro's wheels/tires to the tire shop for mounting and balancing.
When I got home and started to put them back on the car, I realized they had put the back tires (275mm) on the 8.5" front rims and the 245's on the 9.5" back wheels. Just cuz yur paranoid doesn't mean they all aren't out to get you!

I don't think a tech did that. They have a min wage guy who washes cars, moves them and does the oil changes.

They need to compete with JiffyLube

I had my first oil change done, they spilled oil around the engine and didn't clean it off. Smelled oil until it finally burned off. The interior also smelled like grease/oil. Low IQ people.
