Engine swap question
This is my first post in these forums so please let me know if I posted in the wrong section or not So I am wondering if the engine in the 2010 SS, the L99 will bolt right up to the tranny in my 2010 LT or would I have to buy the engine and tranny together?

You would at least have to change the bell housing but I don't think the 6l50 would hold up to the extra power very long anyway. I would swap it out for sure. If you are going to go through with the swap I'd recommend swapping the motor/trans and the ecm. Between the cost of the motor/trans and the install it isn't very cost effective. It makes more sense to trade in the LT for a SS. There are plenty of SS out there.

This has been covered before and if i recall correctly it will not work, totally different bolt pattern for bell housing.
There was a member on here who has done the engine swap but it is not easy and can be a little salty. There are a number of electrical items that need to be changed as well, some of the computers if i recall correctly. Sorry I'm a little vague on the information, it's been a while since that thread. Disregard this, Juice covered it. |

I’ve seen one guy that was able to actually do it (on youtube) and he did it in his backyard, but nothing eletrical worked and he was unable to figure it out, the speedomoter wouldn’t work, or anything

Unless you are Hellbent on wanting to tackle this expensive project, like Juiced stated above...trade the LT for an SS. These cars are very cheap to come by.

Engine swap question
Ditto. Find an SS. I got my 15 SS vert for $25k two years ago. You can find a good 14/15 2SS for $20-25k. The entire drivetrain is different and beefy enough to take upgrades along with the suspension and the 4-piston Brembo brakes. I love mine!
