Thermometer issue?
Any ones in car thermometer report to high? Here in vegas if it's 104 out, mine will report its like 110+ ... Seen it report as high as 120. Doesn't seem right.
Any one else have this issue, or know of a simple recalibration we can do? 2014 2SS ... |

No it's correct think of it this way,the measure of temperature from a news cast or those bank sign are off the ground in a remote area. Your cars thermostat is in the front bumper and with the heat from that as well as the heat coming off the road it will read higher. If you watch nascar or nhra they'll show the air temp say 80 and then they'll read the track temp at 102. It's the same effect on the normal street just not as extreme as a designated race track.

The last two cars I've had and my Camaro report the temperature higher when I first start the car and after driving the temp drops, sometimes as much as 10 degrees. The only car that I've seen which doesn't do this is my 4-Runner.

where are you getting your comparative weather readings from? the weather service routinely "fibbs" about our weather in this town (this came from a high up at noaa.....) if your driving around town the temp vary a good bit, Henderson is usually the hottest spot in the valley, while mtns edge, and summerlin are usually 7+ degrees cooler. the strip is always a hot spot because of all the concrete. holds all the heat in.
it really is that hot out here. i have seen it crack 120 a handful of times. and we are in for a stupid hot week.

No. Not that hot. 138 degrees??? No way is it that hot outside.
Look here: http://www.currentresults.com/Weathe...US/hottest.php The hottest places in the US. Death Valley consistently ranked #1 at 128-134 degrees. You will notice Las Vegas isn't on the list. No, if the temp is consistently reading that high I'd have it looked at. There's no way that temp is correct.
