Lowering under-hood temps

I picked up the Armageddon Turbo Systems Camaro and I need to see what I can do to lower the under hood temps. I am looking at the TS-1 Carbon Creations or the VIS Terminator hoods. I looked at the Carbon Fiber Heat Extractor for the stock hood. I also thought about adding vents to the factory hood. If I replace the hood, I like the look of the TS-1 because it looks closer to stock. The Terminator looks like it is better constructed but more Gotti for sure. Either way, I need the functionality of the exhaust vents more that anything. Does anyone of the forum have luck with lowering under-hood temps? If so, what worked best for you?

One thing I did was command the fan to never completely shut off. I think I have it set at 40% min, have to look. I adjusted it to where it didn’t bother me while in the car with it running.

At 100% it is LOUD.

stay away from carbon creations and they make a plug n play module you can buy if you want to tune the fan setting on but not sure what else you could do??

You can adjust the fan settings with hp tuners.

Whatever you do you need to pay huge attention to where you place the vents. I was watching a video the other day watching an engineer explain the good and bad places to place vents and the best location is basically where our stock ones are and where the 19's have their's placed...right at that distance from the front edge is where you need to place the vents to get the best flow out of the bay.

I have been slowly looking into using the stock vents and getting NACA ducts built in to increase the airflow out of them...the stock plastic air routing under the finisher plates is decent but not high flowing...a compromise between flow and not letting too much water into places they don't necessarily want a lot of water dripping to.

Did any of that make sense? It's late.

We track tested our hoods, with customers across the country, and starting with just our IROC-Z Hood (COPO style) we drop IATs by 13* on average over stock.

If you move into one of our IROC-Z Hoods with Louvers, my IATs were about 13* less than stock and I was running a Whipplecharger...

maybe a small high CFM fan under each hood vent? You could have them turn on based on temp or via a toggle switch.

The cheapest (and tackiest) way is to raise the back of the hood with washers. This is an old, old fad that was used over 60 years ago by old muscle car owners. If you dont mind having a car with a missaligned hood, try it and see if it works on the 6 Gen.https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...l#&gid=1&pid=1
