Trying to decide what to do. (Wheel Damage)

I curbed the hell out of a wheel today. Rear right going around a corner I have been driving many thousands of time. Dumping rain and limited visibility, I cut it too tight, about 1/5 of a rotation against the curb. Didn't smash it hard. Car is running and driving fine. No pulling etc. Heck the curb doesnt even look like it touched the tire.

Starting to search for a replacement wheel, or go for repair. The wheel will likely need some filler to be able to look good again, and I have no idea how much of a pain the refinish job will be for matching the dark metallic silver.

Anyone have a cost on the single wheel or any recommendations?

I did the same awhile back and had it fixed at a shop, they did a good job and cant even tell. It was scraped pretty bad. A brand new wheel from the dealer was 1k - the core. Check out ebay too.

Have you tried taking it to an Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist Facility. There are a nation wide chain. Cheaper than buying a new wheel.

My thoughts exactly PROMETHEUS! I curbed the right rear wheel on my ZL1 and it was repaired for a nominal cost with excellent results!

Check to see if it is warped. Some places can make a curbed wheel look new for under $200. A new wheel cost me about $750 from the dealer. They cut me a discount to match online prices, and trading in my warped wheel gave me my core charge back.

I have used them twice in the past and both times they fixed the wheel perfectly.

I made same mistake.. after cost of repair and not as good as new finish.. i would have spent extra 100 for a new wheel. Not OEM wheel - just a MRR (mmr?) 716.
