I did not trust his driving ability, I could have taken him on the inside of turn 1, but if he screwed up, there was no place to go, except into inside wall. Not worth it

The biggest issue with him not letting you by is that it seems he was worried about you behind him, which only hurts his run. I recently headed to the track and when I saw people crowding me, I let them pass. This let me focus on my driving, not the driving of the person behind me. Someone should tell him, "Look we all know that your Vette is faster than a lot of the cars here, but your skill isn't going to improve if your driving is a result of someone behind you and not your skill on the track."

I really think he needs to go back to intermediate, and learn how to drive, with other drivers |

And, there's a chance that this is the first time he's been out on the track with his Vette. I suspect that it's going to be a different feeling for drivers that are used to front engine RWD. I remember reading the reviews about them being more prone to understeer than in previous versions, which is understandable as there isn't an engine to help keep the front tires weighed down. Even though many people are counting down the demise of ICE vehicles, it's a great time to be a sports car enthusiast.

Has the new Vette been out for 2 years? The track event I went to a few weeks ago, there was an older guy with an older model Vette. I'm sure he's had it for a bit, but he had no problem letting people pass him. I think maybe he couldn't take the turns as crazy as some people could as it does twist you around. I would be tempted to say something, but people that tend to say something are looked down on, even if it's a safety issue and impedes other peoples' fun at the track. |
