So he thinks you held the money, even though PayPal did. I guess some people don't understand how financial businesses work. PayPal might have seen it as "unusual" activity and held it to make sure it was legit.

You did what you were supposed to do. Send the agreed upon amount to him through PayPal and wait for them to send it. If he could have sold the wheels for a better profit then he should have from the get go.

He could see it was there, pending. No reason for him to call you dishonest, untrustworthy, etc. Yes, others may have had their money sent quicker but like I said, if PayPal seen it as an unusual activity then they would hold it to make sure it was legit.

Now you saying he wasn't entertaining the thought of returning your money. He did say, in text, that he would once it cleared his account.

You were more helpful than he was. IMO, the SELLER should be just as helpful as the buyer.

Ha ha that’s true. I was buying them as a way to try slicks - I already have 2 sets of 1LE wheels. For me in the end it was like whatever man, u r using a lame excuse to get out of the transaction and sell for more. It’s not a big deal in life to call something a mistake- I would have worked with him on it.

Anyways - onwards.

Sounds like a nitemare to me. I have sold 1000's of telescopes and parts over the years and never had much of any probs. It just got to the point shipping cost got insane and some of these scopes were 100's of lbs and cost over $10k . Now i try to do local deals only.

Seems dealing with telescope people has been easy and never been ripped off yet.

So.... whoever had the wheels. Did they cancel the deal because they were offered more money by someone else? And thats why they canceled the deal?

I think he wanted to find a (however lame) a reason to cancel the deal. He used this “PayPal hold” as a reason to do it.

If thats the case, then whoever reneged on the deal should be banned from the the sale of anything in the forums. Or if thats to "mean" then atleast a negative review.

Since i was around 13. Must have owned around 300 scopes over the years. You name it i have tried it out just about. Just got tired of all the shipping BS and slowed way down on deals.

I personal think your both at fault, I would have been annoyed too with how many texts and how long the deal took. Also if I text you I would expect that info to remain between the 2 of us not the entire forum, I also have never seen money held up for so long, not that I do a bunch of deals but between all the forums Im on probably 50 deals or so and have never been on hold or had a issue with anyone for that matter. You got your money back I would have just moved on at that point myself and not aired out the issue to everyone. My 2 cents since you asked.
