LT Headers on the Vert?

Has anyone installed LT Headers on a vert? Any issues? Brand recommendations?

Why would there be any issues? The bracing on the vert that affects the exhaust doesn’t cause a problem accept at the rear where the final X is.

Yep. I see some setups are just primaries. Others are primaries, cats and all the way back to the axleback. I was trying to figure out if it was going to be problematic because of the additional bracing on the convertible. As an example, the stainlessworks headers specifically say they are not compatible with the convertible.

I have the Borla full catback with OEM headers, retained primary and secondary cats, it fits.

I have heard that the Kooks LT headers fit as well but can not verify

The stainlessworks headers specifically say they aren’t compatible, but I am thinking primaries would be no problem...as that would replace the stock manifold. Replacing the cats with high flow cats should be no problem. After that, however, it gets unclear.

Mine is going in as soon as my headers arrive. I have ordered Kooks 1-7/8ths headers and their mid/x pipe that will go into the factory NPP for now. Kooks specifically said that the mid pipe will fit the vert and it replaces the crush pipe. We'll see when it gets here

I did get a quote for kooks with the ceramic coated cats. Trying to figure out if I get thisnwith the pistons and cam, or hold off till next round.

You are doing pistons and cam but still running the stock manifolds? Headers are usually one of the first mods, almost always before tearing into the engine.

Yep. I know. I am debating doing them at the same time. I have always added headers with the supercharger. I know the stock manifolds run up to about 700rwhp pretty well. It’s just a timing thing.

As of now, I am getting cam and pistons to go in with fuel system (sitting at home). I will probably leave boost low until after summer...then I will add the headers and up the boost.

I really want pistons and crank seal replaced ASAP...doing the cam is just a freebie when you are in that deep. For this summer, Adding e85 and the 8-9psi pulley, I should be around 650rwhp. Adding the cam is only so I can get the fuel into the engine. Truthfully, I would hold off on the cam too, but I really want the pistons installed before Adding any more power.

I like the TSP prices...but I am trusting Ted and the team. Looks like they recommended Kooks headers with ceramic coated cats.

Btw - looks like they recommend 2in headers, not the smaller 1 7/8 headers. So will be doing that too.

There are fitment issues with the 2". Kooks says they will fit, but everyone is showing that there are rubbing issues. See the thread in the ZL1 page. Also, there's very little to be gained from going from 1 7/8 vs 2, so given the rubbing issues (which are well documented, even if Kooks won't admit to it), most of us running or considering kooks are going with the 1 7/8.
