The pic is old, I use the alcohol to clean then the power cone cone, buff off - done
A coating is optional... Just use common sense, you can't screw this up. The main point is a powered foam tool polishes quicker and better than your hand. And as Becky said, they are great for wheels . The inside of the pipes will never gloss , it's unfinished.

Opti coat is discontinued , sub Cquartz however if you are not using it other places it's too expensive for just pipes. Just The metal polish will be fine

I put a little PAM on my finger run it around the inside lip of the crome pipes and the soot when it does start to show it wipes right off with a kleenix. Works great
