I drove both. The A10 feels so much smoother and you can drive it hard in manual mode or easy with a cheese burger hanging out of your mouth.

Yeah, kind of ignored the extra gear ratios in the A10 which keep you in the power band longer.

Exactly, and going from 4th to 5th on the 6pd is pretty bad.

Yeah sure. GM just stuck some crappy old trans in one of their best track focus cars. Sure thing buddy.

Less than one second difference (.74) on a 1:20 road course. And the A10 had better tires.

Yes the tr6060 is great but man this a10 is special. forget the track, just think about where you use the car the most (for a majority of us) the street, highway, long empty toll roads, hellcats/scatpacks constantly testing you (in houston almost everytime i drive there is a brain dead scat pack owner trying to roll with a zl1) you are never going to be faster in a 6 speed than this a10 just hanging in the power band the entire time. ever. (equal modifications of course)

Why?
I am heading into my senior years. My knees sometimes bother me. Arthritis in my right hand. Stop and go city driving. It's my money. Different strokes for different folks. My wife wants to occasionally drive the car. To satisfy any manual cravings I crawl into my GS. (less and less these days)

I agree going from 4th to 5th is notchy and sometimes doesn't want to go in gear and even down to 6th is same issue in the 150 mph plus range low speeds no problems. Bowler figures its the synchro's or it needs the carbon fiber ring like they use in the vipers.
that being said 3rd gear and 4th gear is where I race at I had to build power to make up for not having a A10. Id say from 50 to 150 I'm good. If I had it to do over again I'd get and auto I'd show the maggi sheeps the edelbrock is pretty damn fast until then I have to use Talley's 8.9 pass with and eforce and the mustang eaton/edelbrocks at the eaton shoot out as edelbrock references lol.

Pros and cons to both manual and automatic. A10 is without a doubt quicker in a straight line race all else equal. Manual is more engaging and fun to drive. I think if I was to start over I would buy a Manual just because I haven't owned a manual car for while...but honestly I would like to have both. The TR6060/70's are insanely easy to drive and the clutch pedal takes little effort.
