HP tuner/scanner MPVI2 data log screen question
Did my very first data log today and have a question on the 83.9 throttle position. I have seen a friends Data Log page from the same year 2021 LT1 Camaro and the same tuner, his says 99.6 .

Mine reads similar. As far as i know it doesnt matter. Some read 88% some 84% at WOT. Mine is 84%. Some folks believe it means throttle isnt opening all the way, but as far as i can tell thats false. Its just what the sensor reads at WOT.

These are two different channels, throttle position (SAE) vs throttle or accelerator pedal position, and they max out at different values, 83.9% vs 99.6%.
85.1% pedal position means either you aren't flooring it or there is another channel for the pedal position alone, too.

My understanding is if commanded throttle param is 100% then you are fine. Yours is 100% which indicates that the ecm knows you want 100% throttle. If heard stories of folks grinding on TBs and stuff to get the sensor reading higher, but again AFAIK its wasted effort or even counterproductive. It doesnt mean you arent getting full throttle opening, its just the calibration of the tps.
Your tps should be 0 to 5v signal. Yours (and mine) just happen to read 4.2v with the throttle completely open, and 4.2/5 = 84% Someone correct me if im wrong, but thats how i understand it.

Just to fill in a gap or two... theres a sensor on the pedal, the ecu translates that signal to a desired throttle opening, or probably a desired torque output value. Then theres a servo motor on the throttle blade that actuates the throttle opening, then theres the tps to tell the ecu how far it is actually open, so it closes the feedback loop. Ecu does a thing, then has sensors to confirm it did it.
So the ecu should know or self calibrate to know that 4.2v means WOT throttle.

Yeah, that has to do with torque limit per gear in the trans tune. Prob more noticeable from a stop at a strip, and more noticeable the more power you are making.

Well I at least see nothing from a second gear roll starting at approx 3k rpm and then rolling into the throttle thank god . Some day when I am at the track with my drag radials I will do a data log

My TPS in the graph is always very close if not the exact same has the left side TPS read out
