New (to me) 2017 1SS vert services

Hey all ... Just acquired a 2017 Camaro 1SS convertible with 67K miles to play with. I am pretty sure this has not been driven very hard and never on any kind of track. I also doubt anything beyond basic oil changes and tire changes have been done in that time. I do plan on getting it on the track a few times a year. Considering all that, what suggestions would you guys have for systems I need to check, service, or replace to get it ready for some hard driving?

to the forums, Timuh60. The owner's manual calls for engine air filter, cabin air filter, trans fluid and rear diff fluid change at 45K miles.

If this is an automatic, I would check the service history to make sure service bulletin 18-NA-355 was done at some point; depending on when, you may not need another trans fluid change now. However, if this was not done at all, your transmission probably has developed or will develop a shudder and you may need a new torque converter, so let's hope the previous owner had this taken care of (it's a warranty repair after all). None of this applies if the car has the 6-speed manual transmission.

Apart from that, I'd replace the spark plugs and check the brakes, replace rotors, pads and fluid as necessary to prepare for the track or harder street driving. Naturally, you want to make sure you have good tires, too, but I'm sure you didn't ever intend to hit the track with the original Goodyear runflat monstrosities.

Thanks arpad_m! It is an automatic and considering that service bulletin came our 2 years ago, I am pretty positive it has not been done. I assume since it is outside the manufacturer warranty and its not a recall, I will pay full price for the service. The run flats have been replaced some time ago and I will be replacing the wheels and tires immediately anyway. Once I get through the list of services I can move to performance and cosmetic upgrades. Going to be a fun summer!

Just called the local dealer about service bulletin 18-NA-355 and he said he didn't see that for my VIN. Is that right?

Not really. Read the TSB itself that I linked to, it says the applicable model year range is 2016 to 2019, date range is SOP (start of production) to Feb 1st, 2019. It is applicable.

Does your trans have a shudder, ie a false sensation of going over rumble strips in 8th and possibly 7th gear at lower speeds, say, 40-60 mph? If not, go to the dealer and insist that they do it immediately, in the hope of saving your torque converter. TSB also says no verification beyond customer complaint is necessary

Unhappy Pushback from Dealer on A8 TSB

Hello All,

Newbie here, fortunate enough to have acquired a cherry -- OK, a Garnet Red Tintcoat -- 2016 2SS convertible with only 9K miles on it. (Haven't yet written the TLDR entry in the "New Member" area, but I will...)

Anyway, something to consider: West Chevrolet in Alcoa (Knoxville) told me that the magic trans fluid flush would not be free of charge because my car is past the 5yr., 60K-mile original powertrain warranty. They quoted $389 for the work.

I said that I had read the 17-page TSB from cover to cover and saw NOTHING about a 5-year window for this, but the service advisor says that that's what GM tells them is covered: 5 years. (From the original "in service" date, I might assume?) I have not called any other dealers yet.

So, to the OP, as Arpad says, get in there pronto before they try to pull the same thing with you.

I talked to a couple dealerships over the weekend and they said it isn't covered as I am at 67k miles. Mine was a CPO and the warranty is supposed to go till 100k but said it isn't covered under that. Quoted $400-$500.
