The Cheezit. Vivid orange Lt1 build

Just upgraded to a new car this weekend! With the ridiculous high trade in prices I decided to trade in my 17 2.0l turbo camaro for a shiney new 2022 Lt1. That little 4cyl was quick. Surprisingly, almost as fast as the new v8 car but I've reached the limitations of the powerplant and it just wont make any more hp unless you build the motor. The 6.2l however, has many options for growth and I've got some big ideas for this car.

Mod list:
-skip shift eliminator
-tinted rear tail lights
-RS steering wheel badge
-GM blade spoiler
-BMW 343m wheels
-20mm front wheel spacers
-3m matte black hood wrap
-Red Calipers
-ZL1 add ons rock gaurds
-Ebay front splitter
-Spectre Cold Air Intake
-Atturo AZ850 summer tires 315-30/20 rear and 285-30/20 front
-Front Hawk DTC60 pads
-Rear EBC yellow stuff pads, now swapped for dynamic friction track pads.
-BMR front 3/4" lowering springs

On deck:

-XKchrome the light filaments for the display.

Well, got a couple things done to the car this weekend. Found a little RS badge for the steering wheel. I'm used to having a 50 Years badge from my 2017 and it just seems so empty with nothing there. Guess that's one of the things they omit to make the Lt1 cheaper.

Did a skip shift eliminator too. I can't stand being on a hill while being forced into 4th from a low rpm. Just an easy plug and play and no more skip shift! I also noticed there is no backerboard padding under the floor boards so I might invest in that.

Now this is my first little custom flair project for the car. I like the blackout tail lights the car came with but being just black and white gives it a "euro" look. The stockers are just too much red so time to give it a different style. Found a set of stock tail lights on ebay for about $200 and a can of night shades at the local advance auto. Holy crap this stuff is $25 now! It used to be only $9 a can. Got the new lights all masked and sprayed after work and left them to dry where hopefully they'll be ready for tomorrow.

Came into work this morning to check on my parts and was pleased to see how these tails turned out. Love the red on black! Now its not an overwhelming amount of red back there.

Replacing these on a 19 and newer car is waaay different from a 16-18 car. Couldn't get these to release and found out you have to drop the bumper to reach 2 hidden screws. GRRRRRRR!!!

These 2 screws...

Little comparison shot here. Wish I could of had the bumper up for this shot.

Next I need to figure out if I want the black/white brake light or a red one now.

That design feels a bit silly, not sure how these make the headlights more secure. They should've fixed the side gaps caused by heat expansion of the plastic bumper instead.

If it's any consolation, pulling the 2016-2018 rear bumper will very likely break the bumper support in the center, under the bowtie, as the glue used for the plastic support plate is weaker than the clips and there is literally 0 access from behind (ask me how I know).

Very nice paint job on your part, however

I did break the center plastic support. Oh well it can't stay new forever! lol. Looks like it'll be ok and worst case, just buy and spray a new bumper for the car.

It's okay, I could not tell from your picture that it was broken. Fixed mine with heavy duty double sided tape, it looks spiffy now (here's a before and an after shot)
