Summer tires for 455rwhp

I havw the stock tires and don’t grip for anything under 60mph. Any good tire suggestions for street use that will grip?

Goodyears don't like the cold, but on dry pavement they grip pretty well on a stock SS when warmed up properly. Or did you say 455 rwhp (and not 455 hp) because you have bolt-ons?

Everyone has their own preference depending on the conditions they drive in, I have Michelin PS4S because of the relative cold and many wet days here up northeast, but you shouldn't need to worry about that. There are many other choices with various tradeoffs... what exactly are your goals ("street use" is a pretty broad term)?

I have Yokohama Advan Apex tires on my 1LE sized wheels, some bolt ons. They may grip a little better than the Goodyears, but not by much...

Well, you 1LE guys get grippier tires, and he never said anything that would imply he'd have that. Nevertheless, the Goodyears on the stock SS aren't nearly as bad as he claims, so you do have a point...

Just replaced the stock Goodyears with the Continental Extreme Contact Sports and I think they are great. I didnt go crazy with the wideth (255/35R20 for fronts and 295/30R20 for the back) on stock rims. They are quiet, ride a lot softer, treadlife is longer, look good and approx 7 to 9 lbs lighter than stock. No loss in handling as far as I can tell but cant confirm how they react in the wet yet. Should have done this sooner, especially with the streets getting so many potholes. Also, the Continentals arent as expensive as the other premium summer tires.

I'm a big proponent of the Conti EC Sport. They are the autocross rain tire of choice for a reason, and are 95% of the Michelin PS4S for significantly less money.

Before i even drove off the dealer lot, I replaced the OEM Goodyears with Conti. DWS06. Have been very happy so far with them. Great in the rain, as well as dry driving.

Summer is a season. The General AS-05 have done quite well for me.

I wouldnt recommend this for pure grippiness though. I have the same tires, they grip well but stock grips better on dry pavement in comparison. Wet is a different story; that's when it truly shines.

I personally would recommend the Continental ECS or Michelin PS4. The ECS has the edge in the rain whereas the PS4 is good all-around and superior in dry pavement. If budget is a bit of an issue than the Indy 500s are pretty good for the money or the General G-Max. The below link contains some testing results of some ultra high performance summers:
