Axle ratio 3.45 in my L99

I am bit puzzled about why my 2015 L99 w/2ss rs came with the 3.45 instead of the 3.27. I couldn't find any answers online as of why and never thought of asking the dealership why. Every time I enter the vin number on google it shows me everything that comes with the car including the 3.45. Does the A6 comes with a 3.45 gears from factory?

I added the 3.45s to mine when I went FI -- but, mine is an 11. Could have been ordered that way and you just happened to get one like that -- it would take a tune update, but the dealer could do that and keep the warranty -- just like the 3.91s.

If you go FI, you're all set!

I don't want to shock you, but Google isn't always right.

3.45 was never a factory option, and if a dealer swap it wouldn't be on the VIN.

There is someone here who can run your VIN. Look in the general discussion forum.

If your speedometer is accurate:
At 40MPH in 4th with the 3.27 you will be turning ~1766 RPMS.
With a 3.45 you will be running ~1864 RPMs.

Here it is: Anybody need a build sheet?

Here is that part on mine:
GM3 - 3.45 REAR AXLE RATIO
G80 - DIFFERENTIAL, LIMITED SLIP

The white sticker said 3.27 lsd. Iseecars.com was false so was the dealership that sold it to me Lol. I am planning to buy the 3.91 and was going to sell the 3.45. Btw, Thank you for telling where to look at.

Anytime! 3.91s wake up the auto. I had them before I went FI. You'll love them...

I just checked it with my scanner and it reads between 1825 to 1870 on 4th gear at 40mph in cruise control. I just hope my speedometer isn't wrong.

Was the car bought new? The gears could have been swapped but not on a new car unless you asked for it.

I bought it used from a dealer. There was some stickers inside of the door by the vin sticker which I took out when I purchased the car because it looked weird. But looking futher after 6 months of purchasing the car in the car's portfolio there was a piece of paper that reads S.O.# 87586 ship to osh1. I would assumed it could have been ordered like that. It's weird because the rear differential has the 3.27 sticker on it.

The 3.27 is what comes stock in all automatic cars. It could be that the previous owner swapped a different gear set into the original housing. That would be costly for not too much gain. I'm going to do the 3.91 swap like Royal Tiger and many others on here.

I thought the same exact thing. I will be putting the 3.91 pretty soon and will be doing a cam swap along with tq converter and other things. Thank you all for the replies.
