Steering effort - PTM Mode

Has anyone come across a work around for the steering going into the heavy 'track' setting when in PTM? I know there is no access in HPT, but was wondering if there may be something else that someone has successfully tried.

It really is annoying. Especially on a slower, corner dominated track.

Doesn't the car (or PTM) respect the setting change you make in the driving mode screen where you can lock the steering to tour or sport?

Do you even lift, bro?

Jokes aside, I think arpad has a point. I personally never found the steering wheel to be too heavy even in track mode, so I haven't tried that myself.

I think in PTM you can still go into the drive mode settings and change the steering wheel feel.

I never tried to change in while in PTM.

set the default on the settings screen to steering "sport" instead of "mode (auto") and it will remain in that setting no matter what PTM mode

I didn't know you could give the steering settings an auto memory so it changes to the mode you want when you turn the car on. I have a 2017 though so I don't know if you can actually make it do that.

I like the track mode map as far as aggressiveness goes for shift logic, the steering as well, but stealth mode for exhaust given it's plenty loud in that mode anyway on mine.

All year model ZL1s can do this. Go to settings then drive mode and choose which you want to change.

I've tried setting it to sport, but when you go into PTM it sets the steering feel to track.

FYI I wouldn't recommend doing a lot of full throttle with the exhaust in stealth mode. There is a risk of melting the rear bumper.

On my 2017 SS 1LE, I leave the steering mode selected as touring on the infotainment screen and it always stays in touring even while I am in track driving mode using PTM and in track mode with traction/stability control off.
