lol says right in the manual to swap to a high temp fluid for track days from GM! 595º plus in my manual. the GM stuff wont cut it. and no, you cant void a warranty! you can only get claims denied. if you have a brake failure and the dealer says its your fault, im sure showing GM what you used, how, and when, they will approve the claim and make the dealer do the work. im not sure what will fail, mostly it'll be caliper piston seals that melt but thats on you and wont be under warranty anyways.

You forget that there is a VIN-based warranty block, too. If a car is put on that list, no warranty work allowed whatsoever from then on.

never heard of it but makes no sense. if i tune the motor my radio cant be denied as a claim. HP does nothing to speakers or the infotainment.

I'm a big fan of the Motive Power Bleeder as another option

No, it doesn't. DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 are all chemically compatible. I bled my Hope brakes with my left-over RBF 660.

What I meant is the dealership can (incorrectly) say "there is no reason for you to go aftermarket, because your factory fill is DOT4 already, we will not honor the warranty if you do so".

Have you talked with a different dealer? ...because thats a huge load of bs. Using a different analogy.... if you don't change your motor oil with Mobil 1 and use an ac delco filter, that means your engine warranty will be voided as well..... according to this dealer?

actually a better analogy would be to not swap 15w50 in for a 1le because the manual states that you must! just like it states you have to swap the fluid for a much higher temp one. tell the dealer to open the manual and learn to read! the OEM for a track is no good and GM tells them this.

I have '17 GS M7 as well and track a few times a year in the Intermediate group. I switched to 0W-40 and change once a year. For brakes, I use Motul 600 RBF and bleed before each event. I use the same fluid for clutch have it from Amazon and use the Ranger method for every other event. Differential gets 75W-90 gear lubricant which gets changed annually and for trans, I'm using Red Line D4 ATF.

You didn't even mention brake pads and other things, but I use Carbotech 1521 (low dust) on street and switch to Carbotech XP8/XP10 combo for the track. Also, brake cooling rings only apply to Z51; GS/Z06 don't use them. Thump UP to Amazon Price Match

I decided not to change the brake pads this time around since the pads only have 3000 miles on them but I will try the Carbontech since I do have it on my list to try.

Also a quick update for everyone reading, The dealer called me back 2 days later and the Service manager had their "Warranty Manager" on the phone with me and apologize for the mishap and said they can do the procedure but I told them too late you already pissed me off so I'll do it myself. They explain the staff should've been knowledgeable but I'm like its not rocket science.

I just completed it recently and it wasn't as bad as I thought. It just took 2 hours of my time. I decided to choose a different fluid this time around as well and I am using BREMBO HTC64 now since it came in on time. The Pedal is stiff how I like it & Clutch feels good too. I should be well equipped now for the upcoming track day.

So far the things I've done:

Track Alignment
Changed Engine Oil
Changed Brake Fluid
Changed Rear Diff Fluid

Pending Item: Transmission Fluid Change. I dont think I will do this yet since the gears feel fine so far when I am rowing them.

2hrs? did you get a bleeder? this takes 2-3min a side. https://amzn.to/3JAuUcc

if you're changing the trans fluid, im guessing you have a manual?

I said two hours because I was dealing with a 9 m/o that woke up from his nap so it put a pause on my work. Realistically it took me a hr. I used a AllStar Performance Brake Bleeder Pump. The pump you have looks really nice!

My neighbor is a tech and I can get his laptop & the details on what to do to replace the fluid. However there is plenty of Youtube video of people showing how to do it too when it comes to trans fluid.
