I received a program yesterday regarding the tires (see pictures below). However, I have driven in light rain with no issues on these tires.

During the last couple of months we've gotten some heavy rains here in Southern California and I've driven my ZL1 with the stock Goodyears with no issues at all. To be honest I'm scared of California drivers because they have no f*cking idea how to drive in the rain and speed through the highway like nothing was happening. (I'm originally from New York City so I know a little better) I've seen wrecks happen in front of me here because idiots just don't respect the rain. I on the other hand, slow down and just drive with caution.

I know the ZL1 isn't really made for rain but I've been surprised by the way it handles. I do go down to Tour Mode when it rains but all you really have to do is 'USE COMMON SENSE" . . . Not everyone does.

Just my .02 cents

Just put a set of BFG Comp AS on the car and you will have zero problems. I had those tires on during a roadtrip to SOCAL from Idaho, hit torrential down pours in Vegas and So Cal. Also hit temps in the high 30's across a couple passes on the way. Neither rain nor near freezing temps affected those tires. I couldn't believe how they were able to channel the rain to prevent hydroplaning. The next best part was the fact that the tires were under 1K for the set. Cant beat the performance or the price.

Hi,
Sounds like a viable option.
What size(s) BFG Comp AS are you running?
Thanks,

Running 285's in the front and 305 in the back, they 20". They are hard to find depending on when your looking. They only make them at certain times of the year.

I run Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS’s In 295/305, and they work perfectly in all weather conditions, check them out.

Sounds like a good option.
No rubbing on the fronts?
Are you satisfied with overall handling?
I'm interested in something for street and long road trips.

No rubbing at all, most Japanese tire manufacturers don’t tend to run on the wide side generally. Handling wise, I’m still seeing over 1.0 G of cornering on the HUD without trying too hard. I was looking at the BFG’s, but they don’t have the right sizes...the fronts are skinnier, and the tears are taller, wasn’t really interested in that.

I'm also running the Bridgestone RE980AS for winter. The stock GYs run very wide for their size, so the 'Stones are actually the same size or slightly narrower, even with the 295 front. The 'Stones are OK, but are noticably down on grip compared to the stockers.

I've switched back to the stock GYs for summer, but will likely replace them with PS4S, or Conti ECS when the time comes for more balanced performance. I have a set of R888Rs for the track.

I disagree ... yes, Californians can't drive for crap in the rain (I'm from FL), but this car, on cold rainy roads on the stockers DOES NOT handle well at all, at any speed above 40mph ... I think that's been the experience of 95% of the people

I ran the BFG Comp2 A/S on my 1LE wheels in 275/35 and 285/35 and had no problems at all.

I put my SC3s back on a week ago and actually had to cancel out on my girl Saturday with heavy rain passing thru there was just no way I could run it 20 miles down the interstate, wet.
Will Def try track and PTM - Wet though.

I drove in the rain regularly and never had a problem. I put it in snow/ice mode just to be on the safe side. Never had an issue.
