It's their fault if the people they hired are incompetent. Every single dealer employee at every single Chevrolet dealer in America should understand how important Camaros and Corvettes are to their owners. Seriously.
You do realize 45k isn't shit when others spend 80k on a jag right...

Do not let the dealer detail your car, they do not know how to do paint correction unless they call an outside contractor, they are just going to keep damaging the paint.

When we bought ours, they were going to send to the back to be detailed. We declined and said we'd take care of it ourselves. Glad we did.

I have bought many cars from many different brands and Chevrolet was hands down the most unorganized of the lot. I can research almost everything I need to know on the internet. Basic knowledge of product is paramount and should be enforced by the GM.

Yes my car is black, and yes I know there may be swirls eventually, but I had 65k on my S8 before I noticed any swirls from washing. I tested a small section of the roof at home with Iron-X, then a light polish and sealant just to see if that would help, but the swirls remained. I honestly think they detailed the car in the sun before they tired to deliver it (it was close to 100 out) and the paint was already hot which didn't help.

Hopefully they will correct this issue and that will be the end of this

GM dealerships in my experience are a massive joke. I've had 1 take my car on a joyride, donuts in a parking lot type of joyride, then this dealership I went to recently flung my door open and hit another car now I've got paint missing on my door. Also they know absolutely nothing about our cars parts wise. Absolutely clueless. Seriously makes me want to trade my car and just never deal with the clowns again. Love my car adore it absolutely hate the dealers

Well their first mistake is buying a Jag - those cars have the worst resale value. Drive it off the lot and you lose 40% of what you paid.

You could have just used a Corvette as a better example of whatever the hell your point is. At least when you spend $80k on one it's still worth $75k when you drive it off the lot.

It does neither, a professional paint correction specialist will know what products to use that will remove a minimal amount of the clear coat and get the paint looking perfect.

Some of the shops I have use a paint measurement device and then they notate that on the vehicle as to how thick the paint is, it aids them in knowing just how far they can take the paint without burning thru the clearcoat and into the paint.

Last weekend I washed, clayed, and used BlackFire Polish and seal, then a final Blackfire Crystal Seal.

Took me probably 4 hours in total, car looks and feels absolutely beautiful.

I didn't have swirl marks, but I was able to use the polish to remove some sort of paint issue on the rear QP, a spot about 2.5 inches in diameter that you could only see from certain angle in certain light...a dull area - now gone.

Same experience with me. The dealer folded up my window sticker many times over like an origami.

I'll say that when I bought my car from Turnpike Chevrolet in Nitro WV. The car was clean, the paint hadn't seen too many (if any) dirty bucket & mop washes. I've only had it back for one free oil change. But they didn't smash up my rocker panels, or pinch welds, they put 10 quarts in it and had me on my way in a reasonable time. Seem to be qualified folks. They do have a few more Corvettes than I'd expect from a relatively small dealership. Maybe that helps?
