An unexpected competitor, maybe?
Competition for the V-6 models anyway.
http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-new...d-ar46947.html The V8 that they currently have in development/testing is only rated at about 300hp, so they can't really compete with the V8 Camaro model(s), but they could on the V6 models and maybe eventually work up to the V8's. It isn't a bad looking car either....although it kind of looks like the front end of an Acura RSX and the the back end of an Mitsubishi Eclipse.... |

That's actually a 300hp V6. It could be competitive with the 350Z, and with V6 Mustangs and Camaros, but it won't touch the V8s. Whats up with the drooping line under the rear quarter window?

I disagree. As I was looking at the pics of it next to the Mustang, I couldn't help thinking how much more I like the Hyundai. The ONLY thing I wasn't thrilled about on the Hyundai was the front. It's ok, but I'd change it a little. Mostly the lower grille. |

I am wondering if that is a tiburon replacement? The engines are small enough and the price is close. If this is the genesis coupe, they should throw in the v-8 they have for the sedan. I do like the current tiburon, not so girly looking anymore.

Its not a V8 camaro, thats for sure. But its a noble effort. It will compete with the V6 camaro though.

IMO Hyundai = JUNK. I'd pay for and drive a RUSTANG before I drove this thing for free.

well, from the pics, it looks like the Hyundai is smaller and slightly shorter than the Mustang... so a 300hp V6 in a car that might be as much as 300-400lbs lighter than a Mustang (making the car approximately 3300-3400lbs) would be good competition for the current 300hp 4.6L Mustangs... and with a V8 option possibly in the $32k range, that might be a competitor for the Camaro, too... would be interesting to see an import in the Pony Car market, wouldn't it? proof that the world is truly becoming a global marketplace.

I like the look of it. It does look similar to the Tiburon, could be the replacement or next gen. I'm not sure if they are killing off the Tiburon or not.

It might as well be when the Camaro gets done with it!

not powerful enough to be considered a competitor... too heavy for the engine... if they offered a supercharged model, it would be perfect... but until they offer that option from the factory, its just another starter car for the tuner market.
but they are nice cars... but if I was going to get a Nissan, I'd get a G35 or the new G37
