Honestly I like the car. However for that price for 94 k for a 530hp car , I would rather take a brand new m3 , seeing as it is considered sorta exotice and put either a tt set up or a supercharger set up in it. Dang when I am a pilot I am gonna have some hard choices for cars. Gotta have 1 muscle car, gotta have one truck/suv, and at least 1 exotic...lol

Okay everyone here is some updated info on the GT-R. This thing is gunning for the Porshe Turbo, and will compete with a Z06 on price and performance.

http://www.rpmplanets.com/asia-gener...-r-071017.html

The MSRP will start below $80K and is expected 0-60 times in about 3.5 seconds and 11.7 second quarters, and of course awesome handling.

I prefer the Z06 as a matter of preference, but you can't underestimate this kind of performance offering unless you are completely blinded by brand loyalty.

We will still have to wait for actual road tests though.

Yeah, the price is not bad for the performance (though sadly still far out of my price range for a long, long, long time). Someone earlier mentioned $40K more for 40 extra hp. Actually, its $37K more for 50 extra hp, and hp isn't everything when it comes to performance. Less weight and better suspension means just as much, if not more. Really, this car is legit. Nice change for a Japanese sports car.

I hate to admit it but DANG!! that thing looks nice, especially the back and interior, not so much the front though. The engine bay looks so incredibly packed I would not even attempt to change the oil on that thing since there are only god knows how many tubes for the intercoolers and such hidden below. Hopefully there wont be too much turbo lag, with 3.8L and 450 hp I would think it would have a bit before 4K rpm's.

Modern turbos are pretty good about minimizing turbo lag. I agree the front end isn't too great, but everything else is pure sculpture.

I'm really digging the GT-R as well, its pretty bad ass.
It is first on my list of things to buy after I win the lotto...
70g's for the base model is a bit steep, worth it for that car, but steep none-the-less

But when even the base model is that impressive, 70 grand is worth it.

I agree. I'm afraid to see what the v-spec (or whatever they are calling the top model now) is going to be like, so far all I've heard is more HP and like 220 lbs lighter. I'm hoping there is more to it than just that....

its definitely a praise worthy car, no doubt. There's just one thing about the car i don't like.... it seems to have too much going on. There are just too many 'lines'... if it maybe had less angle lines and more just subtle and clean straight lines... it would make the car that much more nicer. But thats just me... Other wise a great car.

That's the GT-R PROTO. The production GT-R doesn't have the black under the headlights

Does it still look like like a hagfish? (those scum scuking cleaners of the ocean - or fish tank - floor.)

here are production pics.... i think....like i said before... there are just too many lines on that car, over done like most rice cars... but nevertheless, this car is still praise worthy.
