Sounds plausible, but wouldn’t fit there. I finally broke down and took apart the trunk on my 2021 SS 1LE and there is no foam around the battery.

Hmmm....I tried googling the part no....The 5A1 showed hints of "fuses", but no match to anything. Some of the part number were hard to make out. Maybe its from underneath the dash by a kick panel...good luck.

P.S. I guess no 20 dollars for me...lol

That part is made with expandable foam and is meant for absorbing energy. So it is either for doors, interior panels etc. Its is not for sound deadening, the dynamat style products are much better for that. It may also be meant for filling a space to keep a styling shape under carpet etc on a vertical surface.

I found a clue but not any closer to an answer. I had my center console out and noticed the little butterfly tabs that secure through the carpet

I was going to guess under that rear compartment under the wireless charger pad of the console, but I'm guessing you tried it in there and it doesn't fit.
GM parts diagrams are scattered with references to "sound absorbers" that do not show exact shapes, so that's why I said "sound deadener" earlier. GM does not use "Dynamat" that I've seen. They use these foam fillers in many places, as well as "jute". Jute is the thick padding stuff under the carpets. I know because I had an Equinox that got some water at the floor level when an airport parking lot flooded some years ago where my car was parked. It barely got up to the door sills, but apparently enough to leak and soak the F&R floor area. The fix determined by the dealer/insurance was to replace the "jute" and clean the carpets.

Possibly at the front passenger floor closer to the firewall. Near where the passenger would place there feet. If the car has PDR this piece would not be there. It would replace the PDR module and mount on cars without PDR.

Also, car is looking great.
Thanks, and yes I did and you are the winner! I looked and there was some extra space up there that didn’t feel right. I checked my other Camaro and there it was. PM’d you 😊

Did you try doing research on the part number?
