When car was running, pushed the button on the dash and the trunk popped open. Must be the battery. Wow! I never saw that coming.

Now car has been sitting in garage and problem is worse...battery is dead and damn key over back seat won’t turn.

Need to replace battery...can’t get in trunk.

Pop the hood and put 12V on the terminals up front w/ jumper cables. Then you can pop the trunk.

I have a charger to jump or charge...is that the same? I figured with that clamped and running to jumpstart the car I would have been able to pop it.

I presume you mean one of those small battery pack booster types? If so, then maybe it's not enough.

Try it with a good set of jumper cables with the other car running.

The shop installed the pearl white stripes on mine today and when I got home, I couldn’t open the trunk. I could here it click, but no joy. I used the key behind the seat to open it. I immediately noticed the emergency pull ring was no longer visible. Seems the shop needed to pull the inside cover from the trunk lid and didn’t re-install it correctly. I removed the cover and correctly routed the pull tab and it all works well again. So you may want to verify routing if your having an issue.

I had this issue with my car as well.

There’s rubber adjustment knobs that need to be adjusted. I’ve circled them in the picture.

It took about two weeks in total with minor adjustments to get the trunk to pop open every time.

Before finding the final adjustment, there were times it would work, and others when it wouldn’t. I was never able to duplicate the problem time after time.

I have this problem once every month. I open it with the key fob, from inside the car, behind the rear passenger seat. Then It would work for some time. Before locking again.
