Best Performance Upgrades for around $500
New owner here of a 2014 1LT/RS. Have about $500 to spend and would like to know what would be the best performance upgrade or upgrades for around $500? Thanks.

I guess an intake ($300) with a throttle controller ($180) is the best performance upgrades for $500. However, I would do a exhaust upgrade and a catch can first. Catch can to better protect the engine, and the exhaust upgrade as when you hear a loud exhaust it will make you feel more power from the car lol!!

Catch can first as soon as possible. Saves some carbon cleaning in the long run (and these drink a lot of oil, I need to fill 2liters every 5000km). That's what I did. Then went with MRT v2.0 and Throttle controller soon after. I would say exhaust over VTC because the sound really puts a smile every time (The standard exhaust didn't do enough at all). VTC is very good, buts less 'smile' factor then exhaust roar, for me although. I still need to look for a CAI though. But perhaps I'll buy one when im in the States and take it with me home

Catch can first. Then CAI and ported throttle body. Vitesse throttle controller, JacFab extendolator (intake spacer) and Ported intake manifold. Exhaust will only change the sound the factory set-up is pretty free flowing, just sounds like crap.
Talk to Chase from Apex he can hook you up with some great package deals. The JacFab stuff you need to get from Jason, they are both members here.

I think it should be a Catch can first and foremost. and then the road splits from there.
If you want a good exhaust note and less weight on your rear then get an exhaust. If you want a quick power gain then get a Cold Air Intake (The best in my opinion is Roto-Fab) or even a PTB. 2 out of the 3 options you can do yourself so you save yourself labor $$.

I suggest starting off with an intake system and an Elite Engineering catch can.
