F&R SS Badges: Stay Red or Go Black?

I am considering changing out the red and chrome SS badges on my new Camaro to black. I saw black ones on an orange Camaro on this forum and really liked it. Right now the red kind of blends in on the back and stands out on the grill. Black would be opposite and stand out more on the back and blend in more on the grill. Anyone have opinions to share? Have you swapped? Pics?

I agree going black would be a good contrast against the red but black in the front puts in the boat for blending in…

I went from red SS and gold bow tie to black on both.

Contrast, leave the black on red, change the red on red.

As soon as I saw the picture in your other post about the black rear reflectors. I said to myself....that red SS badge needs to go. You can do Black/chrome trim or black/black.

Does GM actually make a chrome/black SS emblem, or is it the dark gray/chrome badge I've seen mentioned a few times elsewhere?

The only non-red SS badges GM makes is the 50th anniversary edition ones, dark gray with chrome trim as you said, front (part no. 23345205) and rear (part no. 84005847).

These are identical, by the way, short of the alignment pins that are only present on the front badge.

Needless to say, there is a full selection of colors available in the aftermarket, both in OEM sizing and smaller/larger.

Thank you for the information, sir. I have always been weary of going aftermarket, mostly due to not knowing the quality of what you are getting.

Go with black, and move them off the bumper. I always hated that look.
