Can be run 295 front and 305 rear? Need advice...

Hello,

Well, in EU it´s impossible to buy GY Supercar3 (not EU homologation), so if I want a semi-slick who can be used in wet too must go to Sport Cup 2 or Maxx Race.

The question is simple: as 295/30ZR20 is cheaper in both models than 285/30ZR20, do you recommend to use this setup instead 285 in front? Rear will be 305.

Another option is to use 305 in front and rear, but not sure about that because front wheel is slimmer than rear one...

Thank you!

This regular recommended specs rim width vs tire size.

Rim width 10" (254MM)

Tire Size Range - 255MM - 285MM

Rim Width 11" (280MM)

Tire Size Range - 275MM - 305MM

using s 295 upfront will reduce you cut radius, but to answer your question yes they should fit with stock specs.

My opinion is to run factory recommended tire sizes. You are running a $65,000 car and are concerned about saving a few Euros on tires by using the wrong sizes?

Almost all 295's are approved for mounting on "10 wheel.

All the Cup 2's in 295/30 20 are approved for "10-11 wheel size.

You can fun a 295/305 setup without issue.

Sport Cup 2 or Maxx Race are 500€ per tire. If I was concerned about savings I would buy PS4S or GY Assym3, so stop saying gilipolleces...

Currently mounted Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS on stock ZL1 wheels.

295/30 front and 305/30 rear.

How do you like the REs?

Same here. Fitment is perfect, no issues. Seems like the 'Stones may run slightly narrower than the GYs size for size.

In normal driving, they are slightly quieter and ride a little nicer than the stock GYs. I pulled the GY's at 3k miles, so not an "old to new" comparison. Of course, no worries about our freezing temps with the all season 'Stones.

I'm going to try to get out for a 'spirited' drive with some friends Saturday morning, so I'll report back after that. I certainly don't expect the level of grip to be on par with the GYs, but it should be plenty for rational street driving.

They are not as grippy as stock GY’s in dry. But honestly daily drivability wise they’re great. Grippy enough in non practical conditions (rain and temps under 50) I can actually give the car a fair amount of gas before the tires break loose.

It was a tossup between these and the BF Goodrich sport comp 2 but tire rack had better reviews for the RE.
