My personal setup has a Blackvue dash cam mounted to the windshield using their included, very strong and heat resistant tape, then right behind it is a cheap Uniden DFR9 that does 90%+ of what the R3 can do, but it's half the price and, unlike the R3, has the power socket on the right (passenger) side, which was a dealbreaker for me with the R3.

I used a Blendmount mirror bracket for the radar detector, and wired it to the overhead console using Gen5DIY's harness, so there is no "wire intrusion" into the cabin, just the 4-5 inches of wire from the detector to the headliner, even less for the dash cam, looks 99% OEM. (Interestingly, the front edge of the factory headliner has a notch in the middle, seemingly for this very cable routing purpose.)

This is the best one can do on the coupe, and it should work just the same way on the vert. Whenever driving through VA, the one state where detectors are illegal, I take the detector off and "clip" the cable to the detector mount, because I'm like that.
I too use the Blendmount mirror bracket w/ Gen5's harness for my R7. I'm interested in your Blackvue set up as I don't have a dash cam yet because I'm reluctant with how it'll look/be obtrusive combined with my radar. Which Blackvue, and do you have a pic? I'd appreciate it

Aftermarket blendmount off eBay for less than $40 and a Uniden R7.

Power is supplied by a gen5DIY radar detector harness.

Sure, here you go. I have the Blackvue DR900S-2CH, hardwired to the trunk fuse box for parking mode with the Power Magic Pro box.

The rear cam cable and the power wire are tucked under the headliner, entering the trunk via a pre-drilled hole behind the C pillar trim cover on the passenger side.

Absolutely. BTW the weird grayish looking ring around the front cam is a circular polarizing filter that effectively removes the reflection of the dash from the video.

I went with the blendmount and a gen5diy harness for power. Running a Uniden R7 and it's been super solid for me.. works awesome in tandem with Waze lol.

Quick video on how to install and wire up radar detector in a gen6 Camaro using the above setup, but similar with other detectors and such, may be a useful video to give you an idea:

Here is a Thinkware u1000 dual channel dashcam setup running with an iVOLT battery pack (in the glove box), kind of a quick overview video showing how I set it all up to give you some ideas as well, may be useful

I used cheap sticky pad and couple of E-ZPass velcros. It is a right height and easy to remove for parking or cop.

Bit of a pricy setup, but I've really been enjoying my V1 Gen 2 mounted on a Blendmount wired up with a Gen5DIY wiring harness.

Mount can be found here: https://blendmount.com/aluminum-rada...y-2027-series/

Wiring harness can be found here: https://www.gen5diy.com/collections/...tector-harness

Sweet setup

Looking into it as well

Running a 2018 convertible but they say they have wiring for it.

175 for a mount though. Damn.

Yeah, the more sensible solution would be to buy a cheaper mirror mount; here's a pic from one I tried from Amazon that was $25 ish. It was fine, but I didn't like how obvious it would be in the case of a pullover. The sleeker, the better.

Visor mount is the sleekest option imo because you can just flip the passenger visor down if you get pulled over and the radar detector will not be visible unless the officer walks past the front windows to inspect the front of the car. You can keep a copy of your insurance up there held in place by the visor mount in case the officer asks why you put your visor down.

You could even unplug the RD and pull it off of the visor within a few seconds and put it in the glove box while pulling over if you wanted but that might draw more attention to it.
