Tire Recommendation for Hogh Horsepower Car (Daily Driver setup)

So title states, I’m trying to figure out what tire to get for daily driving.
I’m currently running 285/35, 305/35 BFG Comp2 (horrible tire to hold any type of grip lol) it’s perfect DD tire.

I don’t want to run a MT ET Street or a drag radial on the street

Was thinking about
- Toyo RRR
- Nitto 555R
- Pilot Cup 2

Are you running these in cold/winter conditions? No serious tire can tolerate that (obviously lol).

Nitto 555R2 gets great reviews as a very streetable drag radial. I run the Toyo R888R in the rare occasions that I drive my car on the street and they are very good and extremely stable, but definitely louder than any typical street tire.

So my car is no where near a daily driver .. but by daily driver meaning I take her out in the summer to 300+ mile road trip lol. A lot of highway driving. Which is why I don’t think r888 would be a good option or any type of drag radial.

It’s mostly rain I worry about. I don’t pull my car out during the winter.

In a year I probably will add 3000 - 5000 miles max.

I would recommend one of the less race-focused summer tires for your use-case.

I have the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500, they're excellent tires and make it through summer rainstorms very well.

Also heard good things of the below:
1. Firestone Firehawk Indy 500
2. General G-MAX RS
3. Continental ExtremeContactSport (1 and 2)
4. Michelin Pilot Sport (PSS and PS 4)

I’m running the new Conti Extreme Contact 02 on my wife’s new Mustang GT and love them. But not sure how they would hold up on my Camaro with double the power lol.

How much power are you making?

I love my R888R's... I think they would work great up to 1,000rwhp

depending on driving style. If you really want to grip from a dig or slow roll... then i think some MT's would be a better product over 800rwhp.

I’m about 890hp.
I would love R888 but those would only last 7-8k miles max. My Cousin has them On hellcat and they are great but suck in rain and needs to be replaced under 10k miles

Looks like a cake that you want to keep and eat, too, which is pretty difficult. I have less power (much less if your 890 hp was rear wheel and not crank), run PS4S for the street and they don't hook up from a dead start, in fact, 30-40 mph is where they realistically start to hook. From all other aspects, though, these are fantastic tires.

If you aren't okay with a drag radial such as the Nitto 555RII that Josh already mentioned, you'll simply have to compromise somewhere, either performance or usability.

I had same BFG tires and hated them because they don't hook worth a flip

Nitto 555rII is good in the rain
I'm on my second pair now and I drive quite a bit.
They don't hook like Mickey Thompsons but you'll feel more secure when it rains
