Upgrade from Gen5 to Gen6 ZL1 pros/cons/opinions wanted

I have an A6 2013 ZL1, nicely modified w/ 677whp and am on the fence considering going with a new 2017 ZL1 A10. Would like your views/opinions/advice as well as pros & cons on the swap from those that have done it. Thanks in advance!

I don't have a ZL1 but plan to at some point. Looks like you have a nice modded car so you may not see any speed gain. I'm sure you would notice the better handling and tighter chassis feel. Trading or private sale of your ZL1? I'm guessing a dealer would want your car plus $25k-$30k. Unfortunately modded cars don't seem to hold valve well. You ok with that? If you want one and can swing it, go for it.

Sold my 2013 M6 ZL1 for a 2017 A10 ZL1. Its better in every way for me personally. They've improved most of the things that I disliked in my 2013. The biggest for me is the interior improvement. But interior isn't a big deal to a lot of performance minded buyers.
I'd have to say it depends on your plans for mods? I plan to stay stock (unsure on CAI) and my other car was stock plus CAI. But if my old car was heavily modified, I'd have kept it. I think at this time, the 5th gen ZL1 mods for drag racing better and easier. The 6th gen will be the superior track car tho.

I had a 2010 SS with similar power to yours. Thought I'd regret taking this hit on power. In reality what I came to find, the new ZL1 puts all of it to the ground. Something I would have been multiple thousands away from achieving with my SS.

To your question, the cars cannot be compared. Even if you mod yours to be similar it is still doesn't even compare. I miss my SS a lot because I built it from scratch. But there are virtually no similarities between the two other than the model name they share.

You will NOT regret it. Do it.

Since the Magnetic suspension is already in its 2nd gen, you would be hard pressed to come close to the new ZL1. So many advancements in performance, technology, and daily usability. It has the wider front track over the 2017 1LE. The list goes on. I have had this for 2 months now and there are so many things I have not come across yet. Part of that is bcuz it is not a daily driver.

No regrets so far. No issues, no worries. Except maybe, when do I get to drive it again, with no rain? It will melt by the way....

As one who sold a 2014 M6 ZL1 so I could buy a 2017 A10 ZL1, I could not be more pleased. Although I loved the 5th gen, this car blows it away in every metric I consider important: Power, handling, looks, and technology. The only negative aspect for me is the slightly less spacious interior.

I think you may be right, trick is not make it your daily driver so it continues to feel special... familiarity breeds contempt lol...

Even a Huracan as daily driver would lose its specialness...

I just moved from a '15 A6 ZL1 to a '17 A10 and I'm not looking back. This car is quicker, handles better and the A10 is amazing.
