Vehicle Ramps
I have an old set of steel ramps that I always used to change the oil and do grease jobs. My SS sits too low to use them. The air dam hits the ramps well before the tires get near them. Does anybody make a ramp with a gentle enough slope to be used on the SS or am I going to have to buy a new floor jack?

I use RhinoRamps for my Camaro and they work fine. The down side is that they aren't as tall as my old steel ramps so it is tighter working under the car.
Another option that some people use is to put some 2x boards in front of the ramps to lift the car enough to drive onto their steel ramps. The "boards" option has the obvious risk of damage if the boards shift while you drive onto them so be very careful if you go that route. |

I used my normal ramps and made extensions using 2x8's and some rubber step material.
Still working on it, for a temp yesterday to do first oil change, i just used self-tap screws to keep it with the ramp. Plan to drill out for bolts to use as rods to keep the wood from moving back at all and still be able to lift out to move once on ramp to give more room. Screws are up, i just laid together to show. |

Great idea. After jacking and crawling under my car I realized I could remove the plastic air dams pretty easily too. Got 'er done though. Thanks for everyones suggestions. Now, where's that engineer that designed the sideways oil pan plug. I want to give him a piece of....................
