My older 08 and 09 M3s were more engaging than the junk that comes out of Germany today. BMWs are now for soccer moms that want a 500hp AWD headache that never see cold weather - kinda like you living in Florida.

I compared the M240i and you got offended and somehow turned it into a SUV discussion. You BMW kiddies just can't handle your delicate egos dumped on. Let me say it again - no one cares about your SUV.
People like you run your mouths so much, you forget what comes out. You didn't just compare the M240, you said "BMW's are Boring, dull, uninspiring cars that are watered down and approaching Tesla levels of appliances", so once again, you're full of shit. I'm on a Camaro forum which I enjoy and am here to talk Camaro mods. Another member asked me how I liked my X3M Comp, and I responded. Like I said and you can clearly see in my garage, I've owned many high horsepower Vipers, Zo6's and Hellcats. I'm not a BMW fanboy in the least, I just like badass/fast cars from all manufactures, although I prefer American V8's/Torque. I replied to you because you made an ignorant comment that you're clearly clueless as to what you're talking about. I would have responded the same no matter what the make of vehicle had you been as far off as you are here. I was simply calling out your "Know it all" arrogance. I've seen many loud mouths like you over the years on the forums. Talk shit about other members rides when they don't meet your profound criteria!! You're comparing and making generalizations from your 2008 M car, to a 2021 model with twice the tech and power, that you've never driven or even taken ride in. You define the word ignorant! Just like your reply that I have an SUV and I don't live in the snow. My 20 X4M Comp was driven in the snow many times, so again, your ignorant and clueless. Looking at your previous replies to others, your a highly emotional, overly opinionated individual convinced his "Opinions" are superior to others!

Just curious, who touched you inappropriately growing up, ey?

after 40 years of driving, i finally bought my first foreign car for my DD. Back in March ordered a 21 M340I with XDrive. Got it in June...gotta say it is a very nice car and handles so well. No regret with it. I did look to see what US cars had to offer, but i couldn't find anything with AWD and same performance as i had or better in the 18 Daytona Charger 392 that i traded in towards it.

To each his own. I owned a 2015 M235i for 3 years. Then I owned a 2018 Camaro 2SS 1LE for the next 3 years. And 6 months ago I bought a 2021 M2C. Went to 3 HPDE track days each with the BMW and Camaro, so I have a feel of what they're like on a race track.

So the M cars now are "utter garbage" and "junk"? Okay whatever. Everyone is entitled to an opinion I guess.

My opinion is that the M235i was a premium sporty car that was neither a sports car or a luxury car, but rather a combination. It was quiet and comfortable but was also fast and track capable in stock form. The Camaro was much more racecar-like all the time, stiffer, louder, and faster, but somewhat comfortable once nestled into the seat.

I don't know what your expectations for the M2C were after deciding it was boring after 15 minutes. Its performance is neck and neck with the SS 1LE, as documented by Road & Track with their head-to-head test at the Thermal Club track in CA. On the road, their summary was "Never, not for a single moment, does the M2 Competition fail to feel special."

https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cul...camaro-ss-1le/

I haven't tracked the M2C yet, but after 6 months I would definitely not describe it as "boring."

Those engines can be tuned to have big power easily.

And NVH-wise, I6 is also excellent. Now I like the light thumps from the LT1 as it matches well with the personality of the Camaro, but for a more luxurious and comfortable cruiser, N55 is a great engine that runs very smoothly.

Except S55. That thing sounds like a bloody weed whacker.

Kinda odd that N55 sounded better; there is a theory that it might have to do with the difference between the twin-scroll single turbo on N55 vs. the twin turbo setup on S55. I listened to some clips for the new S58. Definitely better than S55, but nah, not V8 level good. S65 hands down beats all of them, as do Coyote, LT1 and 392 HEMI.

The S58 is an absolute MONSTER in these cars, Downpipes and Tune and you're at 750 hp with 2 mods. But, they will NEVER sound like these glorious American V8's!

That's a great photo, really illustrates how clean and powerful the lines on the ZL1 are, both cars look very sharp in their surprisingly similar blue paint. I think parts availability might be OK on the B58 Beemer motors, I wish I knew how they really stack up to the LT1 V8 long-term. I can't see resale value being an issue for the last generation of V8 Camaros (I still don't believe this deep down), I think a clean one- say a basic SS- will hold up pretty well. Not "Investment" material but not a money pit either.

The M2 Competition would get first look as my next move once Camaro is gone.

BMWs make fine machines. The M340i and M240i are my personal favorites. They are just way more coin than my 1SS was and more than I wanted to spend. But both BMWs are great cars and fast as hell on public roads. I love my SS as well. Those who bash Beemers as garbage and drive Chevys like me are hilarious. As in dumb redneck hilarious.

The M2c is an amazing car and was second on my list to the SS 1LE. For me, the main issue was lap time capability vs expense. In that magazine test, the M2c is 2.3 seconds a lap slower and to get that 2.3 seconds to equal the Camaro, costs $$. The Camaro is so much more lap time capable at a fraction of the cost. To be clear - the M2c is a joy to drive and in my case, i am talking about the last 5% of performance. That first 95%, the M2c is beyond a blast to drive and if I wasn't concerned solely on lap time, I would have one.

Very true. BMWs don't appeal to me and I would choose the Camaro even if I had M4 or even M8 coin, but it'd be asinine to pretend they aren't formidable machines.
