SET UP update

UPDATE and Results on Set Up

9-25 I went out to MSR to run with the APEX boys CCW on the 1.7. I had INTITIALLY my set up at -3.1 degrees FRONT camber and -2.4 degrees REAR camber with VERY little TOE OUT on both. (Correction: Toe was set and not changed from where the settngs were on the screen I showed the HUNTER alignment machine printout)

I was running MICHELIN slicks 30 68 18 on APEX EC7 ET27 18 x 11 wheels on all four corners,

After the FIRST session, I felt like the car needed MORE front camber so I MAXED that out at -3.6 degrees. The car hooked REALLY well and I had picked up some additional power from some bolt ons I had AMP do and I could feel that at the top end of straights. Traction control setting was left ON and I was in TRACK mode. Car braking was GREAT. Later on I turned traction control OFF and I found I was quicker but unfortunately I did NOT catch that on my LAP TIMER on those particular laps.

I managed a 1.20 lap time in my sessions (see attached file) and I turned the driving over to Adam Poland at DOGHOUSE Performance to get his feel on any suggested set up changes. Adam was SHREDDING the track and was 3-4 seconds FASTER than me and was lapping cars (we were in the red group)

Bottom line is the car is ALMOST there, We are going to swap out the 1LE Sway Bars with something a little beefier because at the VERY limit we were getting a little too much body lean in the corners. I also am going to have AMP finish up the motor mods so that I am in the 550-580 RWHP range. For THIS event they installed a ROTOFAB , an LT2 manifold, 160 degree thermostat, and FLEX fuel sensor so I ran E85 which I burned up at a rate of about a tank and a half (lol) over SIX 20 minute sessions.

SHOUT OUT to Adam Poland at DOGHOUSE PERFORMANCE for taking the time to throw our asses around in my
3700 pound fat pig of a car (LOL) and to AMP (Bryan Pomeroy)..

Thanks for sharing - what was the final alignment setting for toe? Toe out is different from where you started (the settings on the first post)? Thanks

I can recommend this setup for sway bars: Hotchkis front and BMR rear. I'm running them

See post # 8 & 9 for links to parts

There are many pages talking about this setup keeping the 1LE handling balance and the fact that BMR front bushings are crap. Watch my last 3 video on my Youtube and you can see how the bars worked at COTA, both set on the middle.

(over SS 1LE)

Hotchkiss
Adjustable: F 40%/65%/90%, R 25%/35%/50%

BMR
Adjustable: F 6%/34%/69%, R 46%/70%/98%
Non-Adjustable: F 41%, R 16%
