The cam is a requirement with the fuel upgrades or its pointless, it all works together.

Stating there is no fuel upgrade...think he asking about reducing the price point & what HP gains are to be made by losing the cam & head$.

So what happens if you want over 700 rwhp but don't want to open up the engine? SOL? I thought the blower swap would of made that number a possibility without having to take the engine apart.

You can make 700 rwhp as is without opening the engine you'll just need meth or a hero tune. The blower isn't the restriction on these cars to 700 rwhp, its the fueling. Ford was smart and did dual injection like on the ZR1. GM dropped the ball for us.

Ehhh, for the most part I agree but the blower is a massive restriction. It's set at redline out of the box and pulleying it just creates a heat pump, sure it's manageable in most circumstances but it just shouldn't be this hard to get HP out of these things. Take care of the fuel restriction and you're still stuck with about 750-775 RWHP on Heads/Cam/FBO. With a race ported blower/snout, max effort pulleys/heads/cam, some have seen into the low 800 RWHP but they're 1 hit wonders. Especially in a climate like Texas/Florida etc.

I think the answer for these cars is the Procharger setup or the Whipple. You pick. I personally think the Whipple underperforms but the 2650 doesn't seem to be that straight forward of a swap from the ZR1 (According to Bed @ Weapon X at least).

Procharger + Headers should be a healthy 750-800 RWHP on stock engine. You'll need injectors and pump upgrade of course. Lots of people are scared to change the cam/heads but they are a huge restriction as well. The heads are meant to flow the air that the stock blower RPM moves...Once you ask it to flow 700, 750, 800+ HP worth of CFM in and out, it's not ideal...

Maybe so...I'm ignorant in general to modding!! My comment was directed towards fuel upgrades & the use 93 pump gas which is not where my head was in regards to any upgrade. Don't get me wrong, I understand the whole package works together, I'm simply directing what blackdevil was what I think was trying to get at: which was what HP gains could be achieved without spending the coin on the cam & heads. Maybe you cannot even really separate??

That's it, not trying to pick fly crap out of the pepper.

That DI pump and injectors is probably the 5500.00 package that they build. Comes in a suit case. Yes its an expensive build

The 2300 Heartbeat has made that much Hp + on several Camaros. Shizzysupra 888 rwhp, gen6dave 897 rwhp, the original magnuson white camaro 950 rwhp. My simple little stock lt1 made 713 rwhp on a little less then 8 cylinders. That 1000 hp is at the crank also, it made 848 rwhp.
