I dont think it is a "must do". The car is super fast with original calibration. But for folks wishing to max the ediff magic $350 might be a good investment. One caveat tho: the new calibration works only with all nannies off.

If this is just a tune update, why so few dealerships can do it? Or is there more to the process?

It's only a "must-do" if you find the car giving you sub-ideal corner exits with the nannies "Off-Off". Otherwise it's the same calibration.

Asking it for free is akin to asking for the newest release of Windows to be free; you have to pay for everyone's man-hours developing the upgrade.
