Question No 10 Speed Automatic for 2019 1SS LE package?

Just left the Chevy site and tried to configure a 2019 1SS LE with an A10 transmission, but is is not allowing me to configure that way.

I've had Manuals in all my sports cars and plan to get a 2019 in Manual also.

But I thought, maybe, just maybe I may take a 10 speed automatic for a drive and see how it feels.

I've watched ZL1 Automatics on the track and they seem to shift fast.

Has Chevy ruled out an A10 in the 2019 1SS LE?

Thanks

The 1LE package comes with the manual trans only, and it always has, this isn't a 2019 change. If you want the auto, you need to pick your poison, 1LE or A10

For what it’s worth, the original 1LE (3rd gen camaro) was available with an auto trans.

You will not be getting a 1LE.

You can get a ZL1, which is essentially a 1LE with a supercharger, equipped with the A10, but not a 1LE.

Absolutely true. Some of the members do not seem to know the history of the 1LE option. The 1LE came out in the 1980s, so the 5th-gen car that they are using as their model of what a 1LE is was not the original by a long shot.

Must be early. The last automatic 1LE thread was a muti page yelling fest.

Yep. I wonder what Chevy would have done differently, if anything, had the 350 been available when a manual back then? Not many people went down to the 305 for the manual.

For what its worth - I heard Al O. speak at the 2017 Camaro Fest and he specifically spoke to the 1LE packages having only manual transmissions. In so many words he said they have no plans to match an auto transmission with any of the 1LE options (ZL1, SS, V6 or turbo). His emphasis was that the 1LE option makes that vehicle track focused and as such they plan to keep it pure to that track focus by using only manual transmissions.

Let the wailing and gnashing of teeth begin!

They only came with automatics but that's because the 3rd gen manual wasn't available with the 5.7.

They came with manuals also. You could get the G92 axle option without AC (which means 1LE of course) in a 305/5spd car.

History really doesn't have much weight as of late. GM has said in recent years that the 1LE will only come with a manual transmission. Until it's announced otherwise I wouldn't expect it to change.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to start a battle here with my underresearched comment. I'm a noob whose Camaro life started with the 5th gen, and posted a bit carelessly.
