That's literally 2000hp worth of turbos there.
Meh 1 is for girls, twins or nothing

Yup - i'm making just shy of 1500whp on 26psi on a 427lsx through a 9" and 4l80 without spray. After I blew up my 1st lsx decided not to push everything to the limit.

Who built the 4L80? I've got a bunch of customers having hard time keeping them together at less power than you.
Dang car hobby.

RPM - was about 2 years ago. Suppose to be good for over 2000hp... It's survived so far and even survived when I use to run 30psi + dry 300 shot.

What stage are your customers running?

Odd. Had a couple customers have really bad luck with RPM 4L80's with all the options.
And same thing with Jakes with every option. Are you locking 3rd gear at full power? Ever run full power in 4th?

Not recently.

What exactly is going bad with them? And are you talking about recent made ones or a couple years back?

I wouldn't be doing too much launching / heavy start-stop stuff, I roadrace and do mountain driving, so its more rolling onto the throttle and staying in 2nd/3rd/4th
The TR6060 is one tough transmission - don't really need to beef it up unless you've got cash burning an hole in the pocket despite what others may try and tell you. You WILL NEED axles and a stronger differential, along with driveshaft (the CVs in the axles are the weak link). The stock clutch will try and hang in there for some time, and if you're not doing hard launches, it will do just that. Once you start trying to dig out of the hole with the stock clutch, it will drastically shorten its life; but for street driving, the stocker will do you just fine.

The results you're seeing are due to how they have the cars setup to run. The turbos need to build boost to make the power to shoot out of the hole whereas the PD blowers have that low end torque already there. That means the M6 turbo boys need 2-steps (A6's can powerbrake to load the turbos to build on-line boost). That levels the out-of-the-hole launches. Truth be told, before my 2-step I used to get walked all over by the PD/nitrous guys until about half track (just like you're saying), then I'd do the cursory flyby before the finish line. Now, with the properly set up 2-step, getting off the line neck-and-neck with the PD/nitrous cars is the usual occurrence and really that's about as close as they get to me, event the more HP PD guys. It's all about the area under the (HP) curve.

Love to see that run! For some reason up here at altitude, there ain't many LSX turbo guys running compared to the LSX PD guys. I'd think the turbos would be screaming to be installed and run so they could shine.

Probably all originally purchased at 2+yrs ago. All the problems are in locking 3rd full power or pushing full power in OD. The guy who currently ones one of these cars with the full $8000 Jakes 4L80, says his local trans shop took it apart and said it was all stock except billet shafts. I quit recommending 4L80's to customers cause it's just so disappointing.
M6 for me.

Oh wow... that's pretty effed up. Ya I bought the $9000 rpm 4l80 and it's treated me pretty darn good. Must be downright bad luck. Know lots of other guys running rpm 4l80s just fine.

I'm shocked no one ever mentions the noise factor. I was going to do an LSA kit just because I thought the price was good and I only wanted about 550 to 600rwhp. I ended up going with a Huron kit and easily put down 633rwhp on 11lbs and pump gas. One unintended consequence was how much quieter my car got. I can sneak in late on Friday nights and the wife never wakes up. Try that with your blower car! My buddies with whippled mustangs all love the sound of the BOV and wish they could do it too. I'm getting old and love the quiet stockish sound when cruising
